Arneercool
..and Preston. I know there are a few attempts. But i need one that does not leave empty quest markers and bugged out endgame? I don't want to kill him, i want him and his minutemen to not exist. I don't even want shitty laser muskets or any clothes in beige/sand colors. I want every single trace to be gone, but still be able to enjoy the other factions. The rest of the "concord 5" can stay. I will settle for a mod that just after you fetch his sorry ass in concord, allows me to move him to another settlement without helping out in sanctuary. I want to put him at coastal cottage and forget he exists.
Gilibran
That would require a rather big surgery of the MQ probably resulting in alot of bugs along the way. You do not have to go "home" after leaving the vault, that means no Codsworth, and Concord quest. You can build sanctuary into a settlement, just do not talk to Codsworth. You can leave Preston and the gang where they are and you will never meet a minutemen. What i'm not entirely sure about is if it also stops the minutemen response in certain settlements. Not sure what response lines you get if for instance you go straight to Ten Pines. You can still get all the settlements without Preston as far as i'm aware
Arneercool
I tried that, but i want to be able to travel through Concord without the mission setting off. And be able to recruit Cosworth. I also don't mind helping the Longs, Sturges or Mama Murphy. I can at least assign those 4. Preston is just a whiny b&@*$ harassing me every time i pass. I tried to bring them back so Sanctuary and just leave them alone, but Preston keeps asking me if i'm "ready to help out", but i'm really not. And i would rather not have his annoying face around, bugging my transition in and out of the workshop with his grand illusions about rebuilding. So a mod that lets me move him to a another settlement right after bringing them to Sanctuary, would be a big improvement.
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah
I know you're looking for a mod already made, but I'm just thinking out loud. So, going into "PrestonGarvey", then his workshopnpcscript, then changing bAllowMove to "True" *should* work to at least let one move him to a backwoods, out of the way settlement. ...but who knows, he's pretty firmly entrenched in Sanctuary and various quests, changing that info may still not work. By the way, even when he's your companion, when you dismiss him to another settlement he still goes back to his "home" settlement of Sanctuary? Little different that way from other companions, or am I misunderstanding (I don't remember, personally)?Or, again, is he different and only allow to be dismissed to Sanctuary. His "HomeLocation" could also be changed via his companionactorscript. Again, just thinking out loud, I know you'd rather have the whole thing gone...was just kind of interesting thought for a second or two. =)
Arneercool
As said, i will settle for a mod that, bugfree, lets me move him to an isolated place in the beginning of the game, without setting off the minutemen quest/dialog lines. You can actually help out and get access to most settlements workshops without him. I would just like to be able to walk around sanctuary without him talking to me.You can dismiss him to anywhere, but only after you do his first mission and set of the MM dialog lines for all the settlements you take over after that point. It is super annoying.
BenevolentSpirit
Why don't you just walk up to preston and disable him via console
Gilibran
That is still gonna be difficult, perhaps the easiest way would be to stop Preston calling out for help in concord. Depending on the requirement that trigger his response when the player aproaches it could be as simple as setting the level requirement to lvl 500 or reducing the trigger range to zero and you can roam through concord. Next would be adjusting the trigger that makes Codsworth available as a companion i believe now it is having helped out Preston in Concord but that could be set to auto complete on entering Concord. There was a mod that stopped Prestons talking to you and giving radiant quests but that caused bugs.
snapper69
Why not set up your base somewhere other than Sanctuary?
damanding
Given how many problems mod authors have already had trying to reduce the MM irritations, given how intimately tied to pretty much most of the game the MM faction is, I doubt it's actually possible to have a truly bug free mod that completely eradicates the MM from the game. I also wouldn't be surprised if there are deep game code ties that modders don't really have access to. This request is essentially asking the mod community to completely re-write the game from the ground up. Good luck with that.
AGreatWeight
Just don't get too near to the Museum (you can still explore the rest of Concord)
