Robby92
Okay, I added something to the texture of the male Nightingale armor, but I can't get it to load into the game. I dont know what all I need to edit for it to work. So, maybe someone could help me, or jus mad it for me, and i'd be very appreciative. http://i879.photobucket.com/albums/ab355/crwhitford1992/screenie.png Thats the only file I edited (nightingalearmorcapem.dds. Do I need to do it on the Nightingalearmorbody.dds instead?) Thats what I want it to do. Put the red skyrim dragon logo on the back of the nightingale armor. And I put it in Elder Scrolls V Skyrim>Data>textures>armor. Do I need to do something else for it to load? So lost. :x Edited January 12, 2012 by Robby92
micalov
did you resize at all? I though DDS files had to be 256x 512x 1024x ect?
Perraine
^ This ... Also what path did you actually save it too? If it's exactly the one you specified, then that's probably why it's not working, you need to put the files in exactly the same folders as the .nif (the 3D mesh) file is looking for it or it won't work ... it would need to go in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data\textures\armor\nightingale\m (this is the default Skyrim folder but I have highlighted the relevant section in bold)
Robby92
No, I didnt resize the DDS. Thats what is was when I opened it. And, i've got a non-Steam version, so it's in C:\Program Files (x86)\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\textures\armor\nightingale Would it work if I added 'm' after 'nightingale'? Since its non-Steam, it didnt come with a Meshes, or textures folder. They were added with the other mods ive installed. As a result, the base .nif files are not in a folder, they are all contained in Skyrim.esm. Would I need to replace the armor texture DDS in the Skyrim.esm, with the new textured DDS? JokersxWild
That looks like a nice idea, putting the dragon on the back of a cape. has anyone made it yet?
KaptTorbjorn
You've named it 'nightingalearmorcapem1' when it should just be 'nightingalearmorcapem' Make a backup of the original and replace it with your modified one, same name, same file format (DDS). And I put it in Elder Scrolls V Skyrim>Data>textures>armor. Do I need to do something else for it to load? Put it where the original texture came from, which is:data/textures/armor/nightingale/m -------- IMO it'll look like crap though, single colour logo splashed over, if you want a full red cape let me know, I've already done one with Promethues_ts' capes and it uses the same texture file http://i.imgur.com/GPAAk.jpg Edited January 13, 2012 by KaptTorbjorn
