Gebreth
I there, I'm totally new to TES modding so I decided to start something not too ambitious at first, a classic map with a parchment feeling. Here's a quick preview (the map should look much more clearer in-game): http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/4104/previexmap.jpg Roads and names aren't mine, they are Icepenguin's, used for preview only (I'm making new, smoother roads and frontiers myself). I plan to add the holds' names in non-english languages as well. Feel free to add comments, suggestions, requests, etc
Julenissen666
Looks like I'm not the only one who wants the old map back :)It would be cool if you could add a symbol in each area that shows who controlls it (imperial or stormcloacks)
EnterSevenSeven
I also prefer the flat map over the three-dimensional one. Having the map rendered in 3D is nice, but its functionality is very poor when you only want to fast travel and not learn of the terrain. Some designs that would be nice to see:* The color-scheme being modeled after Merged Maps for Oblivion to retain some form of terrain distinction.* Icons should be colored and reduced in size. Gebreth
Hi! First of all, thanks for the replies! To be honest I'm not fond of the colored oblivion map. I don't think I can make something pretty with this. But I do plan to make the terrain (forest, moutains, swamps and tundra) visible. I didn't even know how to flatten everything (I didn't even know it was possible in the first place!). It makes my work a little bit complicated because of the river/sea stuff... As for the icons, it's flash stuff I can't deal with...
FordPerfect
I too hate the 3D map. It's like your character has a scrying stone implanted in their head.
