Copelland
So my other big problem with this game is that I can't manage to run it with stable 60fps (drops to 35-45-50) I tried a lot of tweaks, so I gonna post it down below. If there is something wrong in this settings, let me know what can be better option for me, I would gladly hear you out guys. Let me show you my settings: FALLOUT4.ini[General]sLanguage=pluGridsToLoad=7uExterior Cell Buffer=64bDisableAllGore=0iNumHWThreads=4iPreloadSizeLimit=4194304000sStartingConsoleCommand=bat godrays steve40
Well, your CPU is only an i5. Using uGridsToLoad=7 will eat up FPS. So will using ENB. I also remember reading a post by smkviper somewhere, explaining why it is unrealistic to expect the game to run at 60fps due to the way the game engine works. I actually manage to run with 60fps like 95% of the time. Dosent matter if I'm in city area or when heavy shooting is going etc. Lowest FPS i had right now is 45. I change some things by ini tool kit and in the laucher. Also uGrids from 7 to 5. My ENB is like almost 0 performance hit for me. (I using VOGUE ENB)I tested a lot of things and spent many time to figure it out, and what is best for me. Now I have really cool looking game and stable 60fps. Feels good ;p So far, so good. Now I working on rainbow texture fix, will see. Thanks for reply pal  Edited January 18, 2017 by Copelland
jdkzombie
I have an overclocked FX-8350 Black running nearly 5.0Ghz at 34c in game. I can hit 60 fps cap easily in many many places and hold it, yet downtown, and in random others, and specifically a few areas, frames takes a nose dive, and I mean dive. Running around last night near a collapsed bridge piece and frames tanked to 7. 7 frames. From 60. Turning off vsync can get me up to 346 fps outside, which breaks the game significantly, but in those same places it still get huge fps drops. 346 to 7 at the same bridge. Jamaica Plains is at 11. And there is nobody there. Diamond City market is 45-50 one direction, but 25-30 if you turn 180 degrees. Downtown can be a solid 20 one minute, and a literally cinematic slideshow the next resulting in me just CoC'ing out of there. My mod list is huge. I routinely mod the game until it breaks, and usually hit the 250 plugin limit. We have nearly identical GFx cards, except mine is an XFX 390. Point being is that the game itself is poorly optimized. It places almost all of the shadow handling onto the CPU and with how many shadows the game will attempt to render at the same time in some places, no cpu in the world can take that hit without stumbling, Intel gets away better because of better single core performance, and AMD has always been better at multicore. It's a shame this game doesn't have proper multicore support.Rainbow textures is a mipmap issue. It's when youre trying to render so much s*** that one or two textures artifact and the game engine never upgrades the texture. At far distances it has one texture, a placeholder, as you get closer it upgrades the texture quality and detail, and when you get even closer it usually is supposedly to seamlessly upgrade it to whatever your settings limit is, ultra, high, medium or low. The uGridstoload is cool, but the higher you set it, the easier it is for quests to break because if the quest requires you to be within so many feet, or meters, to activate, with your grids at 7 or 9 the quest may activate long before you are even close, so if you have to save someone, or activate something within a time limit or so, you may be hosed. Be glad it isn't like skyrim was, if you changed uGrids, you were stuck there unless you had a backup save. There is a bug with the engine (something like that, at least its probably caused by FO4Edit). If you are using Tales of the Commonwealth, Raider Overhaul, Super Mutant Overhaul or something else like that, turn it off and try again. in 90% its related to such a mod.
