amblingalong
It seems the Blue Palace won the vote handily; I'd l love to hear whatever ideas you guys have. Also, concept art is always incredibly useful. Does anyone know of a map of the game area? It's hard to get exact measurements from in-game, and I want to start drawing blueprints ASAP. RbtRvltin
All of the interior areas of Skyrim definitely need expanding. The cities need more levels, more alleys(so hard to murder people out in the open), and also more NPCs. I love the idea of expanding the palaces, That aside, the Great Porch is what was used to trap the dragon all that time ago. However, I like the idea of the remodel, and skeletal dragons would be awesome. :teehee: Also, Armories and Libraries are much needed. Where do the court mages keep all those spellbooks? In their robes? I think this mod would be great, and if i can help (even though I'm not very good at modding) I'd love to. Edited January 20, 2012 by RbtRvltin
Jakisthe
Well, the trouble is that (unless it's changed since Oblivion?) it's very difficult to actually change the landscape...so, while I certainly agree that the cities need to feel more...citylike, unless I'm mistaken, they can't actually become...well, bigger. Thats really still to be seen. We won't know if worldspace modification is actually viable until the toolset is released. I really hope it finally is. tricolour
I was thinking of cleaning up the Pelagius Wing of the Blue Palace and opening up the boarded off rooms, but without changing any of the existing structure or encounter box for the mad quest. However, if you will be doing this (or even expanding the Pelagius Wing), I will quite happily surrender it.
Meatbomb
"This place imprisoned a dragon, right? Then it needs to have the facilities to do it!" You've played through the main quest, right? The Great Porch or whatever it's called is where they capture the dragon.
huntsman2310
I'm thinking of adding several wings to the Blue Palace. As for Pelagius's, you could take a quest from a museum or interior architect to clean up the place, and restore the area to its original mad glory. I might draw a few layouts and post them to give an idea of what I want tp achieve. Oh and Sunnie? They had worldspace modification in all earlier iterations of the Creation Ket (Construction Set and GECK), I highly doubt they'll cut it out of this version. However, there's been an long existing issue that made it impossible to redo the worldspace LOD, which made any changes you made to the geometry or objects not visible until you got close enough and they magically popped into view. That issue made worldspace modification not worth the hassle, and the reason why a lot of mod authors created their own worldspaces.

I was thinking about leaving that part alone, just because the atmosphere is great for that quest. So if you want to do it, go ahead- it probably won't make it into my mod, but I'm not saying it's a bad idea or anything. Re: Dragonsreach, I'm assuming they didn't just keep it there permanently (or at least it's plausible there was some sort of underground facility/cave where it was imprisoned. I mean, would you want to keep an angry dragon on your back porch for however long dragons live?

LOD's, from what I understand(correct me if I'm wrong) are the low-detail geometries you see until you get close. So, making a city bigger might be a problem, but deeper shouldn't be. Simply add a lower level of Whiterun(and the other cities), like the lower level of Riften(and like... most of Markarth) that would only be incongruent from high above. This shouldn't change anything, right? :D
