justwannaddl
As for now, the Aldmeri provinces have much wider authonomy than they did as part of the Empire, and Aldmeri occuparion during the Great War was nothing compared to say Ulfic's tactics, who also was an imperial subordinate when taking back the Reach. And yeah, the Dunmer servant was treated like a servant, while the human nobility was treated like a nobility in the Embassy. Funny. I didn't know Ulfric was a genocidal freak. If that author of the Markarth massacre is to believed then Whiterun and Solitude must be bloody pits full of civilian corpses after he takes it from the Imperials. As for the Thalmor giving their provinces autonomy, I guess it is pretty easy to give a country autonomy after you invade it, conduct kidnappings, purge dissidents and assassinate local leaders in order to eliminate any opposition and install puppet governments. I'm sure Valenwood welcomed their new masters with open arms. :whistling: Edited January 15, 2012 by justwannaddl
Lachdonin
Yeah... i'm not sure where this autonomy is comming from... The Thalmor led a bloody coup in Valenwood, killing its rightful leaders and installing a puppet government, and they have the quasi-religious reverance of the Khajit because of the whole Moons thing. As for their conquest and year long occupation of teh Imperial City, i beleive the words 'Untold atrocities' are used to discribe their conduct... The Empire doesn't really install puppet governments, but rather keeps local administration with Imperial Oversight. The Thalmor kill everyone and put their own in charge... Khorak
I'm pretty sure that if you think the Thalmor are even equal to the Empire, you've gone a bit strange. The Emperor could sit down to a dinner of dead baby with a puppy pudding every single day, and still be keeping the Empire on a level somewhere above the Thalmor. The Empire at least follows a Roman or British Empire mandate: "We're all going to make money, or you're going to die until you decide we should all make money. Or you run out of....you."The Thalmor follows something more along the lines of: "We'll kill the most co-operative ones last, since we're so busy at the moment. Just put your name on the list, we'll get round to you."

Colourful... I think you've just ruined pudding for me. A rather profound acomplishment too, since i do rather love a traditional blood pudding...
