Haslam14
I've started modding Oblivion again, and this time I've gone a bit further than usual, as to be honest, It scares me a bit. I've modded Skyrim, F:NV etc. countless times without many issues, but I always struggle when it comes to Oblivion. I've tried looking for a solution both by troubleshooting alone and looking through old forum posts, but I've not found a lot of info for these issues I'm having. I'm a bit out of my depth here, so any help would be greatly appreciated. First off, here's my load order: I am using Mod Organiser, and I have used OBMM to install DarN. OBMM and all of the other tools (LOOT, LODGen, Bash, etc.) are all running through MO too. Because of excessive tinkering, there's quite a few .esps that don't look like they should be there, but I've since uninstalled them and rebuilt the Bashed Patch to not include them. So, here's the issues:1) Random NPCs and Interior names are completely jumbled up, with random letters and symbols I never thought I'd see in Oblivion. I can't say how many there are in the game, but it happens regularly enough to bother me greatly. There is seemingly no pattern to them either, I've used RefScope and found nothing odd about them (I might be missing something, I don't really know how to use the tool properly). An old forum thread (I cannot find again, sorry) suggests that this glitch has been caused by the Bashed Patch, and that it there was a solution. However, the user didn't go into any detail, and I've looked at what Imports and Tweaks Names and found nothing. 2) There are strange delays during combat that make it unplayable (for me, at least). After a few swings, there was be a delay for 1-3 seconds on a left click, although a hit will strike during. This is very easily replicated by spamming left click. A friend told me that this was a fault with the games engine, but I've never experienced this in vanilla. I'm thinking it could be an issue with Oblivion Reloaded as I know that it fiddles with the engine, but I don't know where to start. 3) Randomly throughout the game, my character will be unable to move, and the crosshair will disappear. I believe this usually happens for in-game cutscenes, like when the Emperor is attacked. I've found no trigger for it, and it's permanent until I use a quick console command. Oh, and this isn't really a 4), but does anyone know if Frans' works well with Maskar's overhaul? Thanks for your time, and if you need more details, I'd be happy to hand it over. EDIT: Issue number 2 was in fact not an engine bug, but with custom combat animations that you can only see in 3rd person. I assume they are from Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul.EDIT2: I never solved issue 1, but I reinstalled the same mods and it took a while, but fixed the issue. I have no idea which mods caused this, but try what I did if it happens to you. Issue numbers 2 and 3 where solved by a complete reinstall of Oblivion Reloaded. I have no idea why it messed up like this, but if you come across the same issues, just reinstall. Edited February 17, 2017 by Haslam14
Oblivionaddicted
Your issue n°1 probably comes from a mod that edits many vanilla elements using another alphabet.
