Splunge
I'm playing a fairly modded game of skyrim and after a hiatus, wanted to add some more mods. I discovered I had an outdated NMM so updated it. On starting, it wanted to reinstall mods, which I accepted. I also installed the steam version of Skyrim Script Extender which put the files into my Steam>steam apps>common>skyrim folder (created 7/16/14). Old mods worked fine, but faces improvers seemed not to be working, new mods added (Quick start) didn't work and specifically Enhanced Character Edit, requiring SKSE didn't work. I discovered NMM was installing mods into a backup folder I had (created 8/16/14 in case I screwed something up installing mods). The data file in my steam>>>skyrim folder just had a scripts folder while the backup folder has all the esp's, meshes, textures etc. as well as another copy of SKSE. I have no idea how the game is even running- the shortcut I usually run the game from leads to the steam>>>skyrim and the game plays with follower mods, new home mods and quest mods working but not body mods, face mods etc. My saves are separate, I believe, in a documents>my games folder. Where does NMM usually put mod data? I have a separate NMM folder in D>games>NMM with a skyrim mods folder with the original rar and 7zip files. I'm tempted to take the full skyrim folder from the backup folder and merge it into the steam>>>skyrim folder and then delete the back up. Alternatively, I could delete the backup folder, and run NMM to reinstall all mods to the proper folder (if I knew how to direct it's installation destination) Any ideas/suggestions?Thanks in advance! I'm not sure whether this post belongs here or in the NMM beta test forum. Moderators- please don't be upset by the double post and feel free to merge this and my other post.
