Rennn
I never used to have this problem, and nothing noticeable has changed (no patches, no new mods, no .ini tweaks, nothing new at all), but my attack button (LMB) now only works one out of three or one out of four times that I press it. It's only in Skyrim. I can use it normally in everything else, and no other buttons seem to be affected. Also, I have never remapped any controls. Any ideas? I'm not sure if it's related (but knowing Bethesda's audio bugs...) some my music seems to have stopped playing, like the explore tracks for example. I remember in Morrowind my mouse would stop working if I muted the music. I wonder if it may be something similar here? Ah Bethesda, you sure know how to confuse people.
Tom21
I know This Game Comes Up with New Bugs all the time. 1 Day it works Great Next Day it work like a pice of CRAP! No New Patchs No New Mods.......
maboru
If you use a gaming mouse with a driver try reinstalling the driver (they can become corrupted just like video drivers) as well as opening it up and cleaning out any crud or debris. If the mouse is old then the contacts may be failing and it may be time to think about a new one. If it's wireless then check the batteries as well as the USB connections. Wiping down the connectors with a Q-tip and some alcohol periodically could also help.
Rennn
The mouse isn't old; just cheap, lol. I would think it was broken (since it was extremely cheap), but it only doesn't work in Skyrim. Everything else is fine. I'll check for drivers though. maboru
In that case you may want to reinstall your audio drivers as Skyrim seems to be tough on a lot of different drivers.
Rennn
Nevermind; it was a bug related to ENB. It seems that although my fps cap was at 30, it was actually capping it at 16. Since it was capped at 16, the framerate was messing up my ability to press buttons and have them do stuff. None of the other buttons seemed affected because I was holding those in; LMB is the only button you really tap. I fixed it though. I set my cap to 50, and that made the real cap 32 fps. I don't know why this doesn't happen consistently, but at least I know how to fix it now. Edited January 14, 2012 by Rennn
