Just thought you all should know that you may (or may not) be breaking the law. Yeah, you may have heard about the music industries attempt to make the posting of lyrics of artists illegal. They failed miserably though and only those who advertise (make money) and didn't offer the artists albums or a link to somewhere they could be bought were ordered to shut down. It was ruled that individuals posting song lyrics for discussion and/or free for all fan sites were not illegal. Just for the attempt at squashing all lyrics posting, I throw up my finger at the music industry and offer these lyrics to them and all that agree with them on this issue. Biohazard - Business - Album: Urban Discipline I'm fed up, I've had it up to hereTell me what is good for me and my careerF*** you and your selfish adviceYou've never been loyal to the same thing twiceIn your sheltered little lives, you don't know the sceneDoing as you're told, puppets of the big machineChanging faces, revolving door hypocrisyWho do you work for now, yeah, I see [Chorus I:] Music's for you and meNot the f***ing industryYou f***ing tell us what is coolYou see we come from different schools You got no crowd but you got a big pushKissing asses till your pride turns into mushYou might change your style for the record companyFingers down your throat, you heave your integrity You're weak, give it up, throw the towel and the flag inAnd get your *kittie kittie* ass of the motherf***in' bandwagonNever for a minute were you real in the first placeSo far up someone's ass you got s*** on your face [Chorus 2:] Music's for you and meNot the f***ing industryYou f***ing tell us what is coolYou see we come from different schoolsTo us it matters what you sayNot the f***ing games you playYou're full of s***, it's plain to seeThe whole damn f***ing industry Spoken:(This song is going out to all the dishonest motherf***ers in this business who prosecute creative people for their own personal gain. Septim741
My favorite song is Losing Hope, by Jack Johnson. I love it like I love few other things in this world. ------------------------------------- I got a faulty parachuteI got a stranger's friendAn exciting change inMy butchers blendA symbol on the ceilingWith the flick of a switchMy new found heroIn the enemy's ditching Well somebody's something was left in the roomAnd man now that its gone well of course we assumeThat somebody else needed something so badThat they took everything that somebody had Losing hope is easyWhen your only friend is goneAnd every time you look aroundWell, it all, it all just seems to change The mark was leftMan it's never the sameNext time that you shootMake sure that you aimOpen windows with passing carsA brand new nightWith the same old stars Losing hope is easyWhen your only friend is goneAnd every time you look aroundWell, it all, it all just seems to change Feed the foolA piece of the pieMake a fool of his systemMake a fool of his mindGive him bottles of liesAnd maybe he'll findHis place in heavenCause he might just die Losing hope is easyWhen your only friend is goneAnd every time you look aroundWell, it all, it all just seems to changeBut hanging on is easyWhen you've got a friend to callWhen nothings making sense at allYou're not the only one who's afraid of change ------------------------------------- Youtube vid: Enjoy
Blacksnake89
Some times in order to let go of your anger you need to release some of it and here is a great song that's all about rage. Five Finger Death Punch (FFDP) [V1:]It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believeThey'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeedI've never been complacent, I can't afford to beI know you think you're special but you ain't nothin' [Pre-Chorus:]Can you read between the lines?Or are you stuck in black and white?Hope I'm on the list of people that you hateIt's time you met the monster that you have helped createBoo! [Chorus:]You've pushed me one too many timesI'm sick of all of the fiction, we're gonna settle itYou've pushed me one too many timesI'm sick of all of the sh*t, I'm gonna settle it! [V2:]It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believeThey'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeedI've never been complacent, I can't afford to beI know you think you're special but you ain't nothin' [Pre-Chorus:]Well there's nothing you can say to me nowAnd there's nothing you can do to stop meIt's hard not to be a menace to societyWhen half the population is happy on their knees [Chorus:]You've pushed me one too many timesI'm sick of all of the fiction, we're gonna settle itYou've pushed me one too many timesI'm sick of all of the sh*t, I'm here settle it! [V3:]'Cause I can't take it anymoreI refuse to live this wayIt's not that I don't care enough, it's not that I can't seeIt's everything inside of me that won't let me be youIt won't let me be you! [V4:]It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believeThey'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeedI've never been complacent, I can't afford to beI know you think you're special but you ain't nothin'No, you ain't nothin'And you'll never succeedI know you think you're special, but you ain't nothin' But you ain't nothin'! worm82075
@Septim741 - Good tune, the tempo and melody reminds me of Who Will Save Your Soulby Jewel. She, incidentally IMHO is one the best vocalists ever. To me she's like the female Eddie Veder (Pearl Jam) and if you have ever seen either of them perform live you'll know what I mean. Channeling that much emotion into your singing must be an exhilarating exhaustion. I think I would call her a true siren because something about her voice is so beautiful to me that I find it very hard not to fall in love with it... It' so sexy. Have you ever heard Gweneth Paltrow sing? If you've never seen Duets, check it out, it's a must see. Shame she doesn't perform. Blonde, tall and skinny ain't my thing but she's still the sexiest woman alive(to me at least). @dezdimona -I've read your topics and you may just give Gweneth a run for her money, I won't tell ya how sexy I think you are. whoops i just did :whistling: @Blacksnake89 - FFDP, new to me, Checked out some of their live stuff too, and they can certainly perform so I might just have to go see'em if come out Atlanta way. Nothing can take the place of a live performance, especially for hardcore underground like this. That is why many underground groups never make it because part of the music is the atmosphere and that just doesn't translate from the club to a CD. I've been an avid concert goer for almost as long as I can remember, went to my first concert at the age of 5. It was an all ages 3 night rock festival in Miami, Fl in 1980, but I was only interested in seeing my idol (yes i had a music hero at 5), Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. I sat front row center stage a top my mother's shoulders for his entire performance and when he played my favorite song, Turn The Page my exuberance earned me a back stage invite and i got to meet and talk with Bob Seger. Over the years I have enjoyed many shows but the two that stand out the most are Peter Frampton in 1989 at the Boathouse in Norfolk, Va and a suprise Black Sabbath reunion at OzFest(WestPalmBeach, FL) in 1995. Best concert ever. A tribute to all the performers that have entertained me over the years best expressed by the man that got me going. Bob Seger - Turn The Page On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha. You can listen to the engine moaning out its one lone songYou can think about woman, or the girl you knew the night before,But your thoughts will soon be wandering, the way they always do.When your riding sixteen hours and there's nothing much to doAnd you don't feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through. Say, here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage. Here I go, playing star again. There I go, turn the page. Well you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road,You can feel the eyes upon you as your shaking off the coldYou pretend it doesn't bother you, but you just want to explode. Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can.On the same old cliche, is that a woman or a manYou always seem out numbered, you don't dare make a stand. Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage. Here I go, playing star again. There I go, turn the page. Out there in the spotlight your a million miles away,Every ounce of energy, you try and give away,As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play.Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed,With the echo from the amplifiers ringing in your head,You smoke the days last cigarette, remembering what she said. Now here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage. Here I go, playing star again. There I go, turn the page. Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.Ah here I go, playing star again. There I go, there I go. doomjockey
One of my favourite folk-ish songs to play, "Willow's Song" of The Wicker Man fame. Well, I never play folk stuff so it's probably about the only tune. Anyway, the song gets a very sexy interpretation in the film complete with ass-slapping and emphasis on the "please come". The last two lines are very  "Willow's Song" by Paul Giovanni w/lyrics by Robert Burns Heigh ho! Who is there? No one but me, my dear. Please come say, How do?The things I'll give to you.By stroke as gentle as a featherI'll catch a rainbow from the skyAnd tie the ends together.Heigh ho! I am hereAm I not young and fair? Please come say, How do?The things I'll show to you.Would you have a wond'rous sightThe midday sun at midnight?Fair maid, white and red,Comb you smooth and stroke your headHow a maid can milk a bullAnd every stroke a bucketful
Blacksnake89
This song's been at the back of my mind for a few years I just heard it on a youtube video and remembered it Rapture by Hurt In the life of the wrong a love lingered on,Love lingered on to frustration. And if our love is so wrong, what should we do alone?Or am I just a picture in a photograph? Why are we stuck in this pantomime fearing a god who died? One who would not deny lovers? And I don't care what they say, if what you need is your faith,Then take a look at my face and know That till your rapture falls to piecesUntil your rapture falls to piecesFind in me the room to breathe,Simple things like sufferingLife had gone this wayLife is gone this way Still in the life of the wrong we all moved alongAnother life evolved to gestationAnd so we made our way with the mistake we madeBut she was just a picture from a photograph So she walked in the baby's roomKnowing what she should do leave me inAbsolute horrorShe put her hand on its lip she gave itOne last kissAnd sang some tune that went Until your rapture falls to piecesTill your rapture falls to piecesFind in me the room to breathe,Simple things are suffering And I would and I would, destroy your godYes I would if I could destroy your godBecause you're born againUntil you're worn again, Until your rapture falls to piecesTill your rapture falls to piecesFind in me the room to breathe,Sinful things like sufferingTill your rapture falls to piecesTill your rapture falls to pieces But, if this must be, then burn with meAnythingJust don't leaveSo find in me the room to breatheSinful things like sufferingTill your rapture falls to pieces She swore she heard the voice of JesusTelling her it was wrong to keep itAnd one more thing, it looked like meBack when it breathedRest in peaceUntil the rapture comes to meet us It has a music video name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>&rel=1"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"> Here is one I just found today but I think is a great song All Fall Down by One Republic Step out the door and it feels like rainThat's the sound, that's the sound on your window paneTake to the streets but you can't ignoreThat's the sound, that's the sound you're waiting for If ever your world starts crashing downWhenever your world starts crashing downWhenever your world starts crashing downThat's where you'll find me Yeah, God loves your soul and your aching bonesTake a breath, take a step, meet me down belowEveryone's the same, our fingers to our toesWe just can't get a ride, but we're on the road If ever your world starts crashing downWhenever your world starts crashing downWhenever your world starts crashing downThat's where you'll find me Lost 'till you're foundSwim 'till you drownKnow that we all fall downLove 'till you hateStrong 'till you breakKnow that we all fall down If ever your world starts crashing downWhenever your world starts crashing downIf ever your world starts crashing downThat's where you'll find, find me Lost 'till you're foundSwim 'till you drownKnow that we all fall downLove 'till you hateStrong 'till you breakKnow that we all fall down All fall down, we all fall downAll fall down, we all fall downWe all fall down, all fall down Lost 'till you're found Swim 'till you drownKnow that we all fall downLove 'till you hateStrong 'till you breakKnow that we all fall down This song has inspired me to change my sig say goodbye to final resitance. ( for now at least lol) @Worm82: So you liked FFDP huh? I've seen them live at Biloxi Mississippi Coast Coliseum in 07. One of the best shows I've seen although I've only been to 3 live shows though, I'm looking forward to seeing Kamelot this october 24 in portland. I'd go all the way to Europe to see them if I had to but no it's like BAM they'll right in my own backyard. I love intruducing people to new music and spreading bands names around.
