Sorry for double post but...Woah really? You wouldn't know by how many are out there.

Yeah, you may have heard about the music industries attempt to make the posting of lyrics of artists illegal. They failed miserably though and only those who advertise (make money) and didn't offer the artists albums or a link to somewhere they could be bought were ordered to shut down. It was ruled that individuals posting song lyrics for discussion and/or free for all fan sites were not illegal.

Just for the attempt at squashing all lyrics posting, I throw up my finger at the music industry and offer these lyrics to them and all that agree with them on this issue.

Biohazard - Business - Album: Urban Discipline

I'm fed up, I've had it up to here

Tell me what is good for me and my career

F*** you and your selfish advice

You've never been loyal to the same thing twice

In your sheltered little lives, you don't know the scene

Doing as you're told, puppets of the big machine

Changing faces, revolving door hypocrisy

Who do you work for now, yeah, I see

[Chorus I:]

Music's for you and me

Not the f***ing industry

You f***ing tell us what is cool

You see we come from different schools

You got no crowd but you got a big push

Kissing asses till your pride turns into mush

You might change your style for the record company

Fingers down your throat, you heave your integrity

You're weak, give it up, throw the towel and the flag in

And get your *kittie kittie* ass of the motherf***in' bandwagon

Never for a minute were you real in the first place

So far up someone's ass you got s*** on your face

[Chorus 2:]

Music's for you and me

Not the f***ing industry

You f***ing tell us what is cool

You see we come from different schools

To us it matters what you say

Not the f***ing games you play

You're full of s***, it's plain to see

The whole damn f***ing industry

Spoken:(This song is going out to all the dishonest

motherf***ers in this business who prosecute creative

people for their own personal gain. Who's positions are

not expendable? You think your a step above?

Don't forget you work for us.)

If you think for a minute this song's about you

Step the f*** back, cuz it's probably true

The message in the music is the reason that we're in this

That's what matters to us, not business

Music is for you and me, not the f***ing industry

Try to tell us what is cool, we come from different schools

It only matters what you say, not the f***in' games you play

Bulls*** is plain to see, the whole damn f***in' industry

[Chorus 2]

I'm quite sure that most musicians feel the same way these guys do and they would never prosecute their fans for spreading their message (not the music, just the message contained in it) and anyone fake enough to do so will never be found on my play list.

If I didn't already give you kudos I would have right there. Good song imma go download it (legally) and damn good point you make.

Edit:Just to make myself clear i down't download music illegally period. Hell in fact there is a site that lets you choose what price you want to pay for a CD and I bought Kamelot's Ghost Opera and Karma for $60 each. (yes I love that band that much)

My favorite song is Losing Hope, by Jack Johnson. I love it like I love few other things in this world.

-------------------------------------

I got a faulty parachute

I got a stranger's friend

An exciting change in

My butchers blend

A symbol on the ceiling

With the flick of a switch

My new found hero

In the enemy's ditching

Well somebody's something was left in the room

And man now that its gone well of course we assume

That somebody else needed something so bad

That they took everything that somebody had

Losing hope is easy

When your only friend is gone

And every time you look around

Well, it all, it all just seems to change

The mark was left

Man it's never the same

Next time that you shoot

Make sure that you aim

Open windows with passing cars

A brand new night

With the same old stars

Losing hope is easy

When your only friend is gone

And every time you look around

Well, it all, it all just seems to change

Feed the fool

A piece of the pie

Make a fool of his system

Make a fool of his mind

Give him bottles of lies

And maybe he'll find

His place in heaven

Cause he might just die

Losing hope is easy

When your only friend is gone

And every time you look around

Well, it all, it all just seems to change

But hanging on is easy

When you've got a friend to call

When nothings making sense at all

You're not the only one who's afraid of change

Some times in order to let go of your anger you need to release some of it and here is a great song that's all about rage.

Five Finger Death Punch (FFDP)

[V1:]

It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believe

They'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeed

I've never been complacent, I can't afford to be

I know you think you're special but you ain't nothin'

[Pre-Chorus:]

Can you read between the lines?

Or are you stuck in black and white?

Hope I'm on the list of people that you hate

It's time you met the monster that you have helped create

Boo!

[Chorus:]

You've pushed me one too many times

I'm sick of all of the fiction, we're gonna settle it

You've pushed me one too many times

I'm sick of all of the sh*t, I'm gonna settle it!

[V2:]

It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believe

They'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeed

I've never been complacent, I can't afford to be

I know you think you're special but you ain't nothin'

[Pre-Chorus:]

Well there's nothing you can say to me now

And there's nothing you can do to stop me

It's hard not to be a menace to society

When half the population is happy on their knees

[Chorus:]

You've pushed me one too many times

I'm sick of all of the fiction, we're gonna settle it

You've pushed me one too many times

I'm sick of all of the sh*t, I'm here settle it!

[V3:]

'Cause I can't take it anymore

I refuse to live this way

It's not that I don't care enough, it's not that I can't see

It's everything inside of me that won't let me be you

It won't let me be you!

[V4:]

It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believe

They'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeed

I've never been complacent, I can't afford to be

I know you think you're special but you ain't nothin'

No, you ain't nothin'

And you'll never succeed

I know you think you're special,

but you ain't nothin'

But you ain't nothin'!

@Septim741 - Good tune, the tempo and melody reminds me of Who Will Save Your Soul

by Jewel.

She, incidentally IMHO is one the best vocalists ever. To me she's like the female Eddie Veder (Pearl Jam) and if you have ever seen either of them perform live you'll know what I mean. Channeling that much emotion into your singing must be an exhilarating exhaustion. I think I would call her a true siren because something about her voice is so beautiful to me that I find it very hard not to fall in love with it... It' so sexy. Have you ever heard Gweneth Paltrow sing? If you've never seen Duets, check it out, it's a must see. Shame she doesn't perform. Blonde, tall and skinny ain't my thing but she's still the sexiest woman alive(to me at least).

@dezdimona -I've read your topics and you may just give Gweneth a run for her money, I won't tell ya how sexy I think you are. whoops i just did :whistling:

@Blacksnake89 - FFDP, new to me, Checked out some of their live stuff too, and they can certainly perform so I might just have to go see'em if come out Atlanta way.

Nothing can take the place of a live performance, especially for hardcore underground like this. That is why many underground groups never make it because part of the music is the atmosphere and that just doesn't translate from the club to a CD.

I've been an avid concert goer for almost as long as I can remember, went to my first concert at the age of 5. It was an all ages 3 night rock festival in Miami, Fl in 1980, but I was only interested in seeing my idol (yes i had a music hero at 5), Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. I sat front row center stage a top my mother's shoulders for his entire performance and when he played my favorite song, Turn The Page my exuberance earned me a back stage invite and i got to meet and talk with Bob Seger. Over the years I have enjoyed many shows but the two that stand out the most are Peter Frampton in 1989 at the Boathouse in Norfolk, Va and a suprise Black Sabbath reunion at OzFest(WestPalmBeach, FL) in 1995. Best concert ever.

A tribute to all the performers that have entertained me over the years best expressed by the man that got me going.

Bob Seger - Turn The Page

On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha.

You can listen to the engine moaning out its one lone song

You can think about woman, or the girl you knew the night before,

But your thoughts will soon be wandering, the way they always do.

When your riding sixteen hours and there's nothing much to do

And you don't feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through.

Say, here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.

Here I go, playing star again.

There I go, turn the page.

Well you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road,

You can feel the eyes upon you as your shaking off the cold

You pretend it doesn't bother you, but you just want to explode.

Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can.

On the same old cliche, is that a woman or a man

You always seem out numbered, you don't dare make a stand.

Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.

Here I go, playing star again.

There I go, turn the page.

Out there in the spotlight your a million miles away,

Every ounce of energy, you try and give away,

As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play.

Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed,

With the echo from the amplifiers ringing in your head,

You smoke the days last cigarette, remembering what she said.

Now here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.

Here I go, playing star again.

There I go, turn the page.

Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.

Ah here I go, playing star again.

There I go, there I go.

One of my favourite folk-ish songs to play, "Willow's Song" of The Wicker Man fame. Well, I never play folk stuff so it's probably about the only tune. Anyway, the song gets a very sexy interpretation in the film complete with ass-slapping and emphasis on the "please come". The last two lines are very

"Willow's Song" by Paul Giovanni w/lyrics by Robert Burns

Heigh ho! Who is there?

No one but me, my dear.

Please come say, How do?

The things I'll give to you.

By stroke as gentle as a feather

I'll catch a rainbow from the sky

And tie the ends together.

Heigh ho! I am here

Am I not young and fair?

Please come say, How do?

The things I'll show to you.

Would you have a wond'rous sight

The midday sun at midnight?

Fair maid, white and red,

Comb you smooth and stroke your head

How a maid can milk a bull

And every stroke a bucketful

This song's been at the back of my mind for a few years I just heard it on a youtube video and remembered it

Rapture by Hurt

In the life of the wrong a love lingered on,

Love lingered on to frustration.

And if our love is so wrong, what should we do alone?

Or am I just a picture in a photograph?

Why are we stuck in this pantomime fearing a god who died?

One who would not deny lovers?

And I don't care what they say, if what you need is your faith,

Then take a look at my face and know

That till your rapture falls to pieces

Until your rapture falls to pieces

Find in me the room to breathe,

Simple things like suffering

Life had gone this way

Life is gone this way

Still in the life of the wrong we all moved along

Another life evolved to gestation

And so we made our way with the mistake we made

But she was just a picture from a photograph

So she walked in the baby's room

Knowing what she should do leave me in

Absolute horror

She put her hand on its lip she gave it

One last kiss

And sang some tune that went

Until your rapture falls to pieces

Till your rapture falls to pieces

Find in me the room to breathe,

Simple things are suffering

And I would and I would, destroy your god

Yes I would if I could destroy your god

Because you're born again

Until you're worn again,

Until your rapture falls to pieces

Till your rapture falls to pieces

Find in me the room to breathe,

Sinful things like suffering

Till your rapture falls to pieces

Till your rapture falls to pieces

But, if this must be, then burn with me

Anything

Just don't leave

So find in me the room to breathe

Sinful things like suffering

Till your rapture falls to pieces

She swore she heard the voice of Jesus

Telling her it was wrong to keep it

And one more thing, it looked like me

Back when it breathed

Rest in peace

Until the rapture comes to meet us

Here is one I just found today but I think is a great song

All Fall Down by One Republic

Step out the door and it feels like rain

That's the sound, that's the sound on your window pane

Take to the streets but you can't ignore

That's the sound, that's the sound you're waiting for

If ever your world starts crashing down

Whenever your world starts crashing down

Whenever your world starts crashing down

That's where you'll find me

Yeah, God loves your soul and your aching bones

Take a breath, take a step, meet me down below

Everyone's the same, our fingers to our toes

We just can't get a ride, but we're on the road

If ever your world starts crashing down

Whenever your world starts crashing down

Whenever your world starts crashing down

That's where you'll find me

Lost 'till you're found

Swim 'till you drown

Know that we all fall down

Love 'till you hate

Strong 'till you break

Know that we all fall down

If ever your world starts crashing down

Whenever your world starts crashing down

If ever your world starts crashing down

That's where you'll find, find me

Lost 'till you're found

Swim 'till you drown

Know that we all fall down

Love 'till you hate

Strong 'till you break

Know that we all fall down

All fall down, we all fall down

All fall down, we all fall down

We all fall down, all fall down

Lost 'till you're found

Swim 'till you drown

Know that we all fall down

Love 'till you hate

Strong 'till you break

Know that we all fall down

This song has inspired me to change my sig say goodbye to final resitance. ( for now at least lol)

@Worm82: So you liked FFDP huh? I've seen them live at Biloxi Mississippi Coast Coliseum in 07. One of the best shows I've seen although I've only been to 3 live shows though, I'm looking forward to seeing Kamelot this october 24 in portland. I'd go all the way to Europe to see them if I had to but no it's like BAM they'll right in my own backyard. I love intruducing people to new music and spreading bands names around.
