Hmm, another crash.

I think it's not a spawn thing. In fact I think it may be related to a quest or trigger, maybe even a HUD Element..

Anyways. Thanks for all the help Purr!

I'll update this thread after a few quests that I think may have had an effect, another person in the forum is crashing at the Castle after a certain quest.

haha! More bad news, the older save now has it's own issues too, scrapping, building or doing anything in workshop causes crashes in areas I've built.

Sooooo.... Here's the plan... I got a save that does not have a [M], and that one is 1 day and a few hours.

SO, from 7 days of gameplay total to 1 day. Guess I got a lot of backtracking to do. Anyways, this has been an eye opening experience. My first playthrough never had these issues. But the mods weren't as complex either.

I'm going to tread carefully from now on, with what I disable and activate on mods. Anyways, thanks Purr4me, I see that you've been helping lots of people, and I'm happy to have been one.

Cheers!

You learn by doing, It's how it's done, and I hate this new game design too.

Most of the mods were made with 3rd party tools, this game hates or dislikes the use of loose files in the data folder, it prefers Ba2 archive use.

This might be whats going on, I do not know in your position, you would need to view your data folder to find out.

A lot of people have had to learn this on their own.

The reason the Bethesda web site does not except loose file packages is because the CK is the package manager. But most current mods

here on the nexus made with 3rd party tools are loose file formats. No Ba2 archives.

We see arguments about it, I see a lot of frustration about this subject. The game engine and security from steam does not care about what we think.

so, we see a lot of this going on.

:psyduck: :hurr:  :pinch:   :nuke: o_O   :wallbash:

Hi!

Just a small bump, but for future reference, I think I figured out what caused that area to crash. I remember at some point in the game, I manually spawned a bunch of npc's, and I mean a bunch, that I tested some weapons on near Collegiate. Now, if I understand correctly Save Bloat is an issue, and I had assumed at the time the bodies would disappear, perhaps however, since the bodies had loot in them, they didn't.

It could be that everytime I went to that location, I ended up loading a bunch of bodies that made my game CTD. I don't know if that is true, but I am using mods called Deadly something, which is essentially WoTC, adding new spawns in areas that cause large battles to occur, and adds new enemy types. I spawned some of these new enemy types in that zone to test on, and I think that may have made my save file remember that instance and ruin the save for future use. I can't be sure that is the issue, since spawns of live enemies placed by the author despawn whenever the battles are over all over the Commonwealth.

Now I still haven't been to Far Harbour or Nuka, so it remains to be seen if my load order truly is safe, I may update later, and since my save isn't as long as my 7 day+ one, it is still ambiguous if the same issues will occur, which may lead me to believe that spawn mods like WOTC or Deadly+ on Bethesda.net may not be optimized.

That's my current theory at least.

PS. My biggest save in my folder is only 20mb.. I've heard of working games with 24+.. So I'm not sure if the file's size is the indicator or rather the contents of the save file.
