brifoundthebingus
Hello all! I'm finally trying to play Special Edition and downloaded some mods over the course of a few days, and I thought that I had everything sorted out and that the load order sorted by LOOT made sense alongside what some of the mod creators have on the pages for where their mods should be, so I finally made a new game on SE today. Everything worked fine up until the character creation menu. When I went to change races, a spinning loading circle would appear and the controller I had connected would stop responding until the character's race actually changed. I thought it was strange but not significant enough to stop and check my mods, so I chose Redguard and went to change my character's sex. Except for the audio (which only stopped when I was finally able to get the game to shut down), the game froze when I tried to do that. It also took my computer a while to respond when I tried to Alt+Tab or open my task manager. The last time I tried playing before coming here, the video seemed to start working again, but the game would not actually respond when I tried to use my controller, and even though the slider had moved, my character did not look any different. The only possibility I can think of that might be causing this besides an issue with my computer is a conflict between two mods, KS Hairdos and Diversity - An NPC Overhaul, because Diversity asked to overwrite KS Hairdos when I installed it and I was unsure but allowed it to. This is the load order that LOOT put together, if someone wouldn't mind taking a look at it. I had LOOT do its thing after I installed everything and I made sure to launch the GenerateFNISforUsers and update the behavior after any mod that I saw needed that. 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp 6 6 Campfire.esm 7 7 ApachiiHair.esm 8 8 ApachiiHairFemales.esm 9 9 ApachiiHairMales.esm10 a Cutting Room Floor.esp11 b SMIM-SE-Merged-All.esp12 c Bring Out Your Dead.esp13 d FNIS.esp14 e XPMSSE.esp15 f Diversity - An NPC Overhaul.esp16 10 dD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp17 11 dD-Reduced Wound Size.esp18 12 Footprints.esp19 13 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Interiors.esp20 14 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Minor Cities and Town Interiors.esp21 15 Eli_Breezehome.esp22 16 iNeed.esp23 17 iNeed - Extended.esp24 18 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Exteriors.esp25 19 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dawnguard Interiors.esp26 1a Book Covers Skyrim.esp27 1b Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim.esp28 1c skyBirds_SSE.esp29 1d Run For Your Lives.esp30 1e Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dungeons.esp31 1f Inigo.esp32 20 Blowing in the Wind SSE.esp33 21 Immersive Patrols II.esp34 22 Frostfall.esp35 23 1nivWICCloaks.esp36 24 When Vampires Attack.esp37 25 BarenziahQuestMarkers.esp38 26 Recorder Follower Base.esp39 27 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Weathers.esp40 28 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dawnguard Weathers.esp41 29 Blowing in the Wind - RLO Major City Exteriors Patch SSE.esp42 2a The Paarthurnax Dilemma.esp43 2b Blowing in the Wind - SMIM Merged All Patch SSE.esp44 2c Better Horses 3.0.esp45 2d LadyMiraak.esp46 2e TheFloatingMarket.esp47 2f KS Hairdo's.esp48 30 Imperious - Races of Skyrim.esp49 31 Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul.esp50 32 RealisticWaterTwo.esp51 33 RealisticWaterTwo - iNeed.esp52 34 Relationship Dialogue Overhaul.esp53 35 Hunters Not Bandits.esp I am on Windows 10 on a Lenovo Y50-70, but I'm admittedly bad with specifics beyond that so I will just copy what I read in the About in my settings, if it might help as well; Intel® Core i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50GHz for Processor, and 8.00 GB of RAM. lethielnyrond
It does that to me as well, but if I wait it out it does get going again. I just go make some tea and when I come back the gender has shifted and I just pick up from there. Lethiel

pathtopower
It's a normal thing, just wait it out. The thing is that the vanilla racemenu is trying to load all of the modded hair packs you installed or any other very very ram heavy modded assets and it will take time before it all loads in. Until the racemenu from skse is reintroduced, we gotta endure it.
