Macrophobic
It's funny when I find a popular mod, check the comments section and I can be 100% sure at least 2 of 10 last comments start from "I like it, but...", "Any chance..." or "Please, add a version with...". It must be annoying for authors of these mods. And yes, some comments are like THIS MOD IS UNIMMERSIVE. ON THE MENTATS IT CLEARLY SHOWS BRAIN FUNGUS IN THE INGREDIENTS WHICH ISNT PRE-WAR. YOU, SIR, ARE TERRIBLE... But on the other hand Elianora is a legend and everyone in this community likes and admires her. Locking comments is, I think, overreacting. Her mods always receive positive feedback, it's hard to find anyone complaining, some users asked how to edit something or how to find a specific mesh or texture, it happens with all bigger mods and there are hundreds of other users who may answer those questions instead of the author. When I find a mod which I find useful but I would add something or remove some features I don't need, I just do it, I try to figure out how it works, I edit and check if it's working. Quite a few times seemingly minor alterations appeared to be more difficult and time-consuming than I thought.
Gruffydd
Seems like everywhere you go you find boxes of cleanser and bars of soap, cans of paint and brushes (and a working mixer), stacks of clean pre-war clothing, and tons of should-be-scavengable construction materials (in the form of buildings in various states of disrepair), and you've got enough working tech to turn a handful of pencils and a box of spoons into a working firearm, yet after 200 years almost everyone lives in scrap hovels and wears ragged clothing. You'd think there would be a lot more if not pre-war at least clean stuff floating around. Is it such a stretch to imagine that someone might have slapped some new paint and a bit of polish on that workbench?
tomsite
@Quince99 Wow, they complained about clean workbenches ? I was not aware, but see... that's what happens. They go into a mod that is all about RESTORATION and complain for having restored stuff. Reason why I no longer pay attention to such comments or such people. My understanding is : - Users have two eyes which they can use to read stuff- Users have a brain so they can think and decide for themself When I see someone coming into a mod which clearly states CLEAN and they complain about it and then say how in a post-apocalypse that is not realistic or immersive, I immediately no longer pay attention. What troubles me is that I never even claimed my mod was immersive, but they still come into it and spew their bulls***. People want to control everything and whenever you create something that is not immersive / lore-friendly, their safety bubble bursts. I say it all the time. I make mods for myself because I play my game in a certain way. If that bothers someone, the exit is that wayl. Nobody will tell me how to play my game. @N7R Please don't let the vocal minority ruin modding for you. You cannot please everyone. I tried to do it for a long time, but at the end you realize that it's useless to try. So just do your thing and don't pay attention to the negative comments. The beauty of the Nexus is being able to submit your work of art, no matter whether it fits or not. So you do you and don't let anyone bring you down.Welcome to life Crimson ;). Nawww really, i agree and can relate to your comments. Usually i don't even watch the forums as there are just too many bs-artists out there. I haven't released any mods for Skyrim nor FO4, however i was active in another game as a modder, but since it really pissed me off how some tosspots react i just thought to myself "Let them write their own mods, i will just do it for myself and my friends and period". Now these idiots come along and ask why i don't release mods anymore and they saw this cool mod there and there on Youtube. So yeah, there are idiots out there and you can't always ignore them. It is sad that some just jump on a modder only because they can. But then there are "modders" who also should first learn the basics about modding before releasing anything. I myself appreciate each and every mod (par the most stupid ones), and if a mod is really good i even sometimes comment. Otherwise i keep my mouth shut, maybe also better that way as i can be extremely sarcastic. And you always can count on the fact that some people just have an IQ of about room temperature meassured in degrees Celsius. They are lacking any reading competence. So even if you would answer them, there is a high chance that they are not capable of reading nor capable of understanding what you wrote.
