RokHere
This is a thread that I hope would grab the attention of some fans, where we would share our cool moments, memories, or surprises. Things that took us by surprise or made us laugh (all alone in front of our PC!) or that felt simply cool. I'll start by sharing the moment when I was riding my horse with Aela the Huntress almost in the middle of nowhere, on a road west of Solitude, a long way from Whiterun, and all of a sudden I see 3 travelers coming from the wilderness onto the road, so I dismount my horse and approach them to talk, and when I'm close enough, I am shocked to recognize them, they were the twin brothers of the Companions with another member! That moment made me smile, and I was very curious what they're doing so far away from home. It disappointed me just a little that Bethesda did not capitalize on something like this by adding a new, unique option in my conversation options with them, where I'd ask them what they're doing here, and they'd tell me anything about a mission or something, however brief. So yeah, the moment could have been improved, but it made me smile and was cool enough as it is...made me feel that world (Skyrim) is alive in a way, and moving. GMatthews
I had seen it in videos and screenshots before- but the first time I lopped an enemy's head off was freakin' brilliant! Before that, when I first got the game and started playing, I had no idea that there was a possibility of a slow motion fatality kill of an enemy so it was pretty awesome when that happened. Hehe...that reminds me of the first time I was pulled and brutally gutted with one sharp pierce by an NPC enemy, killing me instantly in a style close enough to slow motion...it took me by complete surprise and shocked me. That surprised me too. It's funny how the random levelled enemies jump up in power -I got my own head chopped off for the first time yesterday. Then there was the time the dragon bit down on me lifting me up in the air to spit me out. That was degrading.

stabbykitteh
The first time I entered a random cave only to find it had it's own self contained story and an interesting one at that. Also, the first time a dragon dropped a dead Dawnstar guard almost on my PC's head. Didn't hear him coming like you usually do. "What the... it's raining guards? Oh crap..." Zinnorokkrah
I remember one time an Ancient Dragon landed right in front of me in a town and just sat there, perched on a tower. I'd never seen one before, and was freaking out. So I blasted it with a full-throated 'Fus Ro Dah'. The dragon shook itself off, said something in draconic that sounded condescending, and then flew away, ignoring me. It was like it had heard about me, came to check me out for itself, and decided that I wasn't worth the bother- needless to say I was quite insulted when I put things together like that.
R3Q
Entering Blackreach. Blackreach is awesome. This was quite a funny surprise. So there I was, trying to sneak up on some bandits while roaming the wilderness. I hear the dragon roaring in the far distance so I didn't pay it much mind. So, I take out my bow and zoom in and notice that they start running my direction and I'm like what the f***? I didn't even move. There's no way they could have saw me. Mind you, this thought was 2 seconds before what happened next and when they actually got close enough before I would pull out my sword. All is quiet and then the next second, the dragon drops down behind me. I. s***. My. Pants. These bandits were pulling a Lydia and I failed to recognize it. justwannaddl
My surprise was fighting in Labyrinthian. I was way too green to reasonably go in there and found myself constantly running away. When I got to Morokei, he one shotted me for about a half hour before I just gave up and went for a barage of firebolts in hopes of stun locking him. Even then, I only beat him because he bugged out and froze, before I ran out of mana. Killing Estormo after that hell with the staff of magnus was sweet joy. Coming back after I got dead thrall to find his corpse was still there was even better. Another one was a strange one. The forsworn were fighting an imperial patrol and slaughtered them. I expected them to go after me next but all they did was say hello and you shouldn't be here. Similarly, I was on a quest to slay a dragon. I arrived but the dragon wouldn't turn hostile. It landed infront of me and just stared. I was queite torn about what to do so I simply did my summons test on both. The summons didn't do anything against the forsworn but attacked the dragon. Thus did the forswron live and the dragon lost its soul. Edited January 17, 2012 by justwannaddl
