When leveling up smithing, I tend to use Leather Bracers... leather is plentiful after running around in the wilderness and it only takes 1 leather and 2 strips to make. You don't need to carry around a pickaxe (saving 10 lbs) and the average animal will give 2 leather (bears, sabercats give 4, wolves 1, etc.)

Be VERY careful when using certain AoE Dragon shouts, as they WILL damage friendly NPC's as well as enemies (Lost 'that woman' finding that out <sigh>)

Guard AI is, to say the least, messed up, so they will stop in the middle of fighting a dragon, who is currently killing citizens and pillaging the town, to tell you to be careful with that spell your using. (or that your under arrest for stealing that cheese wheel)

Some ceramic hanging lamps in Dungeons can be shot with an arrow, which makes them drop to the ground and explode like a firebomb, so you can attract the attention of a Draugr then hit the lantern when it's close and kaboom

Enemies and NPC's generally have no idea about whatsoever about traps/pitfalls that are in there area so get them to chase you and use there own traps against them.

Soul Gem Traps can be shot with an arrow to displace the gem and disarm the trap

The pinkish/purplish 'liqiud' on the floor of certain caves/dungeons/ruins is actually petrol/oil, so if you have a flame spell active it WILL ignite, however you can use this effect to ignite it from a distance to kill/injure enemies

Certain magic related traps on the ground can also be triggered using the above method, so you can actually use your enemies own traps against themselves

There is ALWAYS a hint/code somewhere nearby for the 'turning stone' puzzles

Don't always run head first into dungeons as sometimes there are NPC's or 'ghosts' that will actually show you the way or show you where the traps/pitfalls are, also as mentioned above your EARS are almost as important as your eyes, so listen for clues

There is a certain unique piece of armor available which has two very cool properties (the method to receive it is a bit nasty/ruthless however) BUT be careful as one particular enchantment WILL effect friendly NPC's during combat and could land in trouble with Guards

There is almost always a 'back door' leading out of the lowest level of a cave/dungeon/ruin so you don't have to run all the way back out, also there is invariably a cache of l33t loot somewhere near or behind the 'back door'

On PC to remove a drawn arrow without firing it, go to favourites menu (Q for me) and de-select and then re-select the bow. This will remove the arrow.

(It might not be silent, and it only works when the bow is favourited. If it isn't, simply use the items menu).

EB

Actually, just press R.

It's better to head on for adventures on your own after you've acquired a decent equipment. While followers are always nice to travel with (doesn't make you feel lonely) they're sometimes a pain in the back. I always had to look back to see if Lydia was following and always had to be extra worried in battles and prevent her death. Also sometimes she ruined my stealth attacks by running straight to my enemies to attack them while I was sneaking behind them, therefore compromising our position and making us engage into a not needed battle.

Of course she's been a great companion for me and served me very well. However, going alone on quests, walking to areas and not stopping at any barrier I find, gives me the feeling of the Badass Adventurer.

Probably posted before.. Use a part of your budget to buy as many Iron Ingots and Leather Strips as you can.

Craft loads of Iron Daggers = Smithing Increased (Fast)

Enchant those daggers = Enchanting Increased (Relatively Fast)

Sell those daggers = Speech Increased (Not so fast)

Special tip for enchanting, if you want to make quick money, use the Banish Enchantment. It boosts the price of the item pretty high and you don't even need big soul gems for it. I could sell those petty-soul enchanted daggers for up to 1000 Septims. Also remember, this is a weapon enchant. A similar price boosting enchant for apparel items would be the Fortify Sneak enchant, though a higher value gem is needed, at least a greater soul gem. Have fun.

I would add to this by saying....sell those daggers one at a time....and your speech will improve even more efficiently....
