So many followers in Skyrim have met a untimely grizzly death. Tell us your stories about how your companion, be the man, mere, or aninmal met their demise.

e.g.

R.I.P. Lydia after slaying many dragons, and draugr, and other beast you were taken down by Forsworn archers even though you were decked out in enchanted weapons and armor.

Dear Lydia,

My apologies for Fus-Ro-Da-ing you off the Top of the World. At the time, I didn't know that holding down the Z key would make my shout more powerful. I'll see you at the bottom.

Deepest regrets,

R.I.P to Lydia from my second game who litteraly dissapeared inside the first cave we visited . We got attacked by 3 Chaurus and a few Falmers , i was playing a mage and i was still low lvl and wasn't powerful enough to kill all of them at the time , nor was Lydia. I ran out of the cave hoping that Lydia would be behind me but she never came out. I tried going back in to find her but i almost got killed doing so and had to run right back out .

And R.I.P to that random guy from my current game whom i can't remember his name . I hired him for 500 gold at the SilverBlood tavern in Markarth only to have him follow me all the way to Boethiah's Shrine so that i could sacrifice him to Boethiah only to get that piece of junk Ebony Mail which now rests in a chest in my house in Whiterun. Seriously, that Ebony Mail looks exactly the same as the regular Ebony armor , only without the shoulder plates.

R.I.P. Lydia.

We shared lots of good times together, killed lots of wolves, bandits, draughr and even dragons together.

I'm sorry I had to kill you because you were blocking the way in a cul de sac and refused to move even when I was gently trying to push you towards the way out. I am confident you would have done the same to me if it was you who got stuck.

thank you sweet Lydia.

p.s.: I put the stuff I looted from you to good use, cheers matey.

Couldn`t you use the Unrelenting force shout to push her out of the way ? Whenever i have trouble with my followers blocking my way or being unwilling to jump down an edge in caves when the only possible way to go is down the edge, i simply use my unrelenting force shout on them . I've been all over the world in Skyrim and never once was i forced to kill my follower even though there were many occasions where i badly wanted to .

For example : we're runing a dungeon, i spot a pressure plate which triggers one of those realy nasty metalic raming doors with spikes, so i start looking around for any object to put on the pressure plate in order to disable the trap. I find a Pot , i put it on the pressure plate which triggers the trap but i make sure no one was in the way before doing so. Then in theory, the trap is disabled for as long as the pot remains on the pressure plate. So as smart as i am, I GO AROUND the pot and move on , only to hear a pot getting kicked and a BIG WHAAMMM behind me . I look back and i see my follower crawling on his knees and not only that , since he got ramed by the door he's now back behind the pressure plate and as stupid as he is, he didn't learn his lesson yet, he triggers it again , AND again , AANNNDDD AGAINN because he gets ramed back every single time .

I have to admit that in times likes this i realy DO feel like shooting them in the head with one of those Life leeching fiery arrows of mine . BUT as good as i am , i simply go back and use my unrelenting force shout on them to CATAPULT them OVER the pressure plate and actualy MOVE ON. lol
