KillingTime
Hi, I'm having a bit of a mare with textures... My beautiful skyrim has suddenly downgraded to look like a 10 year old piece of crap... :( Just before I cattled it, I was following the ATI users Ultra set up guide http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5366# the steps of which I have completely reversed, I also installed 12.1 preview catalysts, I'm now back on 11-12 I just can't work it out, I've reinstalled existing and installed previous video drivers, gone through every option in catalyst control centre, created new skyrim and skyrimprefs .ini files, disabled tesval, reinstalled texture mods, ran the game from a backup dir from way before the problem, nothing works :'( I have included a before and after screenshot for your amusement... you can imagine my pain... Has anyone any idea's short of re-installing everything? Edited January 16, 2012 by KillingTime
Rennn
What's your mipmap quality set at in your Catalyst Control panel? I remember everything looked bad in Oblivion for me when I ran an ATI card until I realized that my mipmaps were set to 'performance'. I turned them up, and suddenly many of the visible textures gained quality. Hope this helps :)It may be something completely unrelated though. maboru
Try disabling any mods then go to My Documents/My Games/Skyrim folder and move your save games folder somewhere safe then delete the Skyrim folder. Then log in to your Steam account to verify your cache (Library, right click the game, click properties, click Local Files, click Verify Cache and wait until it finishes.) Then put your save back and restart the game. It will run the hardware checker again and create new inis. Then see if your textures are back.
