Slow adding/removing items from containers

Okay, I don't think this is a bug, more just trying to understand the mechanics. It seems that the more you add to a container the slower it is to add more items (instead of just hitting R repeatedly and the items are added, there's a second then two then three lag between hitting R and the item actually being added).

At first I thought this was due to the quantity of items (IDs, not number of individual items) but that doesn't seem to be the case. I can load/unload ingredients fairly quickly. But it seems like it's tied to the weight? I like to sort items by chest, so one chest is for weapons, another for armor, another for soul gems, etc, etc... And the armor chest is the one that slows down first and gets slower more quickly than my other chests (potions, weapons, ingredients, misc, soul gems, books). I even started to use 2 different chests for armors, but they started to slow down very quickly.

Has anyone else noticed this, and if so, has anyone found a way to speed it up? It's not game killing by any means, but I'd like to have faster access :D

I have the same problems. I think it comes from the total number of items in a chest. As if every single apple gets registered with a special entry into some kind of database.

This isn't the case for me. I only need 1 chest (same size) for weapons, despite the fact I have like 6k arrows in there in addition to weapons. But even before I'm finishing dumping my ebony armor in the armor chest, it's slowing down.

My ingredient boxes have probably 8000 items in them and are still quicker than my armor boxes with only 30 or 40 items. It's not really a 'bug' or problem, just frustrating.

Ok, I've tried it again. I took dozens of greatswords, battle axes and war-hammers out of my chest and instantly felt an increase concerning adding/removing-speed. It sounds really strange that it's connected to the weight, but that seems to be the case. Try to split up weapons and armor to two different chests, or even more. That should help a bit. Or maybe there's a way to solve this with a mod.
