zerther
At first I dealt with the random 4 second freeze outdoors. These mods helped incase it's happening to youhttp://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2531http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5458 (both work but this is the one i use)Thanks for the fix boris and kullashaker But every so often I get a complete freeze, where I either have to restart my computer, or alt+tab and close the program. I dont get a black or blue screen. the game just freezes. I have yet to find any word on a fix for this mostly because searches will always point to the more frequent 4 second freeze. Sometimes I can play for hours without seeing the freeze, and sometimes it happens minutes after I load up a game. If anyone has any info, it would be awesome. I also updated my nvidia card to the driver thats specifically meant to run skyrim... I'm running windows xp. Thanks, moto. These are my specs: AMD athlon 7750 dual-core processor 2.70 ghznvidia geforce 9600 gt4gb of ram... but using only 3gb cuz of a 32-bit windows.i dont list my specs much, so lemme know if im missing anything. mods: cowardly horsescraftable arrowseng all in one - (craft lockpics, axe, pickaxe etc.)housecarls can wear anythinghunters disciplineisilNarsilLfox pickpocketing chance caps at 99magicrunes3nighteyeproudspireslightly reduced npc greetings 4 summons perk and a few interface modsihudcustomizable favorites menucerulean night galaxy Edited January 18, 2012 by zerther

MotoSxorpio
Have you tried the /3gb switch? Skyboost (r3) with iCCC (fxaa injector with ENB patch 096) has helped me. With your 9600gt, you might have to lower your AA to like 2x and force AF (better performance). Also, if you use the latest drivers (beta 290.53) Ambient Occlusion is ON by default, with Nvidia Inspector you can disable the AO for a bit more performance. Likely the freezes from my expereince are from CPU binding and AA while your cpu is trying to prebuffer some frames.
