cumbrianlad
Okay, So I can get my enemy NPCs to shout and use all three words of the shout. They do it effectively but silently. I've tried looking at draugr and even Arngeir but I can't work out what it is that makes them shout the words out loud, "Fus-Ro-Dah" etc, in game. The characters that I want to shout are all Nords and using standard voices, such as FemaleOldGrumpy. How do you add the shout words so that the player hears them? It seems odd to be silently blasted across the room, even though the visual animation plays when the enemy uses the shout? Good lord, I'm asking lots of questions. I've been helped by so many people on this site and this is my first mod. I could trawl through my posts and see who's contributed but that would take ages. I've decided that when this mod is made available (and it will be) I'm going to post and ask for all those who've assisted me to add their name to the thread so that I can list you all in the credits. It is going to be worth it, believe me.
Tasheni
Have you extracted all voice files of the female old grumpy voice? If that fus-ro-dah is not recorded for her, you can't use it. If it is recorded, you can copy that one into the folder sound - voice - your esp - femaleoldgrumpy. This folder should appear, if you record a temp file for this voice type. Than simply replace the file. Otherwise I think you need to use a custom voice type and record some files. But I'm not sure about, perhaps there's another solution, I can't see right now. cumbrianlad
Hi, Tasheni. No, I haven't extracted voice files because I didn't know how to do it. I take it I install BSAopt and extract all files from Skyrim - voices_en0.bsa. I'll do that and see if I can sort it out from there. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. And there you have it. FemaleOldGrumpy has no voicepower files. To see if it works, I'll try female even toned and male even toned for my enemies, because they have the lot. If I don't like the sound of their voices, I'll have to come back to find out how to add the voice power files to a new version of the old grumpy voices. I chose these because my enemies are meant to be ancient with their lives prolonged by magic. I've given them all age 50 complexions and ghastly bluish white skin colours, so the old voices fit better. Edit: I'm happy enough with the even toned voices. Thanks again for the pointer. It's much better hearing the words of the shouts. I nearly got killed by one of the mages because I'd forgotten I gave the higher level ones ice-form until I heard the words...too late. Thank the lord the mages aren't set up with the same melee skills as the dual-wielding 1-handed types or I'd have been a goner, for sure. It's bad enough that they dual cast expert destruction spells. I'll add your username to my growing list of credits! I used BAE in the finish and it worked just fine. Even if I don't make new voice types it's really handy to be able to view what dialogue is available to all the actors. I must nip back and endorse the mod and add a friendly comment.
