hector530
i find it funny how on the same page there's two threads: one guy says dungeons have too much light, the other says they dont have enough. LOL. at least there's mods for both.
893kira
So everyones done it. They've walked into a set of ruins and it's been all lit and cozy. But does anyone find it strange that there is lit candles and big basins of fire? I find it rather annoying, I mean why would they put all these light spells and torchs into the game if the player never use the. I know there is the time when you fire a magelight at a dragon while pissing around, and theres those times when a mage places a trap and you use the old magelight trick to get by it. But inless your roleplaying or trying to fight with a torch when is it ever really needed? If there is no answer I guess we can only say that Draugr are affraid of the dark. Why else would they light up underground caverns that haven't been entered for a few hundred years? I don't know if you ever played the buggiest thieves guild quest but torch and magelight would be totally useful in the final quest. Totally wished that most dungeons would have the same environment in the final dungeon of thieves guild quest. Too bad bethseda never fixed the blindsighted quest that ruin the thieves guild quest gameplay.
Illiad86
I love Bethesda games and Skyrim is very awesome, but this is one thing they always mess up. There are always some little details that destroy the atmosphere. Fully lit dungeons although they haven't been entered for 191029 years is just one of those many details. Maybe there will be a mod some day that fixes this and extinguishes all the candles and torches in several dungeons, haha. there is one already (kind of), its called Realistic Lighting without post processing (or i suppose there are other similar mods out there too). It gives you very dark nights and you NEED a torch or light to go through dungeons, if you lower the brightness + this mod (how i play it) its absolutly pitch black in some areas. The lights of the dungeons that are already there are also tweaked so they light less. Try it out, i recomend it. I second that. I was in Ustengrav yesterday with that mod and it actually make it scary to go through :P But I think I'm using the updated version of it: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=7654 Love it, makes the game so much better atmospherically.
