AceOne01Won
I realize you PC gamers look down on us console gamers but as a console gamer I have to say the stuff I see you guys do here on Nexus Mods is AMAZING and it would really be great if we could get these mods for use on the Xbox One without jerks stealing your stuff and uploading it themselves. So what would it take to convince some of you fantastic folks to port your stuff over to the consoles for your adoring fans?
damanding
Most mod authors don't "look down on" console players. The PC master race people are an obnoxious but vocal minority and don't represent all of us. In addition many mod authors, myself included, have already uploaded TONS of mods on bethesda.net even though many of us dislike their site and the way they handled mod theft. Unfortunately some mod authors dislike bethesda.net's handling of the situation so much they just don't want to deal with the site and even the most polite begging to change their minds only infuriates them more. You also need to understand that quite a few mods will never be able to be used on consoles for a variety of technical reasons.
montky
@ace101wonthat always makes me laugh, this PC v Console thing - it's all computers(cue "Don't Hug Me Im Scared Computer-y Guy song)it's just, consoles don't have as much user-servicable stuff is all. that aside, you ask a great and complicated question.were there specific mod projects you had in mind to be brought to the Console FO4 fans?a lot of the overhaul, merging and optimisation mods are going to be straight up no-go prima facie, though some of the other features or asset mods and new lands and monsters might be more of a 'maybe'. I enjoy FO4 on a lot of different platforms, though unfortunatelythat isn't an option for a lot of gamers, and a lot of modscould simply never be brought to FO4 on consolesdue to third party constraints. It isn't that people aren't looking into it, some folks are trying old schoolsolutions, and 'hot memory switching' with a virtual-box they connect to their consoleto try and bypass the ~2GB limit for mods.this has worked for some advanced console users with some success,it will be great when a more concrete "how-to guide" is made. though when you consider that some high-end PC users have north of 100GB or moreof mods to produce their high-end version, something like that is probably not anywhere near attainable given the constraints hard-baked in for consoles.though, consoles are already a mid-level option and canoutperform some of the mid and low end PC installs etc... I look forward to seeing more discussion threads about these things, and seeing FO4 fans across whatever way they play, enjoying FO and playing.
