krist2
Hello, my game worked fine until some days ago.I then decided to try the NMM to install mods (I had quite a few mods from before, butinstalled without manager). This was the Steam gameBefore installing from NMM I tested the game, and it worked fine. I then installed about 10 mods.EVE, Project Nevada, WMX, A world of Pain, and a couple of minor mods. After that my game wouldn't start.I thought that it was some conflict with old mods not installed via manager. So I then uninstalledNew Vegas, and installed again. But I still get the same APPCRASH crash. I even tried a pirated version, I have bought it with all DLC on STEAM first, so I could test it without patches, but I get the same error. Withversion 1, 1.1, 1.3 and 1.4. Could it be that the NMM has made some change in the registry, or some other place (where does it store it settings?)that could cause this crash? It's strange that it stopped working also in a totaly unmodded state... krist2
If you had read the whole post, you would have seen that I have tested it with all versions of New Vegas, from 1 - 1.4 I know pirates are not supported, but I had to try to find the error. I have the same error with my steam game, as with the pirated one.. Do you really believe I would be a Premium member here if I pirated the games...? krist2
Now I tried once more to make a totally new and clean install of FO:NV via STEAM, with the same result. Appcrash, stackhash. Something must have happened with the usage of NMM and installation of mods. It worked before I tried that.. .
krist2
Problem solved:for some reason it started crashing if I had the "DS3D GX 2.0" (this is to get EAX back hardwareacc to VISTA) button ticked in my Xonar D1 audio center. When this is not ticked, the game works great. I found this out by accident... ;)
Jeoshua
I think either one of two things has occured here: One - If you tried the pirated version and then got the error, you have a rootkit now installed on your machine. Enjoy. This could also be the case if you installed afterwards, but is well coded enough to not cause problems. Enjoy even more. Two - If the error occured before you downloaded the pirate copy, then you have a different version than your operating system. Your d3d output suggests... is that Finnish? krist2
Its not 1, I know how to install just safe files, been playing with computers for 20 odd years now :) The problem was that Xonar drivers was old, all problems solved when I updated. Now I can play NV with DS3D enabled, sounding great with my new sennheiser pc350 :D Not finnish, norwegian ;)
