SerchBoogie
Hi. I released a mod and some people are having issues with the dialogue. Well just two guys have come to me reporting this issue. My Mod has no voice acting so I recorded silence files and wrote the dialogue for all my NPC's. The dialogue was working during the developing stage, and the countless times I tested it myself. I deleted everything and installed my mod like a regular user on my computer and the dialogue works beyond perfect. It also works for other people who I suspect are the ones who have endorsed it and commented how they liked the mod and even asking some questions or making some observations about advanced stages and areas of my quest. So I know to some degree that my mod works as intended. I just don't understand. The BSA contains the following: lodsettingsmeshesscriptsSEQsoundtextures The folder structure is correct. Sound / voice / mymod.esp / NPCvoice1.wav Loose Files: Videomymod.bslmymod.bsamymod.esp One of the guys who reported the issue suggested me to let the Sound files as loose files. So I left the Sound Folder outside the BSA. The new BSA contains the following: lodsettingsmeshesscriptsSEQtextures Loose Files: VideoSoundmymod.bslmymod.bsamymod.esp Now, A User that helped me to test the mod sent me a PM telling me the dialogue is not working, but the dialogue worked for him before when he helped me testing the mod. The only way he made it work was to use SKSE's plugin Fuz Ro D'oh silent voice, and deleting all the sound files. The worst part is that I don't know if my mod is working for those 497 downloads my mod has. Only two guys are reporting this, I want to think that it's just these two guys. Or maybe most of my 497 downloads are deleting my mod without telling me is not working. What should I do?   :wallbash:
Di0nysys
Are they getting no conversations with NPC's at all? Try placing the SEQ for your mod as a loose file vs bsa. Had this issue a while back. If you changed any lines, regenerate the seq. Just in case, tell those users to save and reload the game when they install the mod. Tasheni
The game isn't very nice to .wav-files. Normally you use the tool unfuzer to make .fuz-files, that include both .wav and .lip-files compressed together. The seq file is only for the dialog of start enabled quests (as the name implicates). It makes a good sense to leave it into the .bsa along with the sound files. So other modders do and I got never problems with that. But I eyperienced same issue, before I recorded my voice acting: Some dialogs with only silent .wav files were not showing up or sometimes very fast. But not everytime. Sometimes they worked very well. It seems, that some other mods that are running parallel can cause this. Generally make with every change of a word a new seq file. Activate the checkboxes of the required subtitles - some gamers turn the subtitles generally off, so without sound there shows nothing up :) But I suggest, if only two people report back this issue, perhaps another mod is causing this. werr92
The folder structure is correct. Sound / voice / mymod.esp / NPCvoice1.wavThe way you wrote it is incorrect. After MyMod.esp goes the VoiceType sub-folder and not the actual audio file. It should look like this (example):.../MyMod.esm/MaleArgonian/que136_que147G6_H1A45.fuz But maybe that's what you meant and I'm taking it too literally. SerchBoogie
Nah it's ok I wrote it wronng. Anyway. The two guys who had the issue solved it in the same way. They had to extract the audio files from the BSA for the dialogue to work. Is it a problem with my MOD or their Skyrim installation. I insist my mod appears so be working fine for most people. My audio files are now in FUZ format. Cleaned with TES5EDIT. It works for me, It works for others but seems like some other people is having issues still.
