learning to mod

k,i have a lot of ideas,but i dont know how to mod.except a few tweaks in the geck for the mods i download,but that not really modding.

 

where to start?what do i need to know?how a bout scripting?animations?what tools to use?

anybady know a good learning website?

 

i need a mentor ;)

I just started making scripts... the way I eased into it was opening other mods in the geck that did things similar to what I wanted to make, then look up what all those crazy words in there mean. :thumbsup:

ya,i can do that,that how i learn to do all the other "tweaks" in the geck.but i need the basics.

I'll second AlfredTetzlaff's suggestion, if you want the basics, the best place to start is by doing the tutorial Here

After that, maybe add a lightswitch to one of the rooms, using the script part way down this page.

If it's any help, I've done a tutorial cell here that has a few simple scripts and effects.

Not sure what to suggest about animations or custom models, but If you have any specific problems getting something to work or want to learn how to do a particular thing, there should be someone here who can help.
