Thesupernoob202
So, I got the Creation Kit a couple of days ago and ran into a problem. I'm trying to edit the base damage for SkyrimForDaWin's M4A1 SOPMOD, being that I love the gun, but it's way too powerful. Anyways, I can edit the entry(in the game data tab) just fine, but when I save and close, it creates a duplicate of the object instead of saving the changes to the current object. To clarify, it saves fine and shows an asterisk next to the object, but it creates a duplicate after closing the Creation Kit. I reopened and reloaded immediately after saving and closing, there was no duplicate before closing, there was after. I tried both creating a patch .esp and editing the main file, both did the same thing. I also tried using FO4Edit, and while it didn't create duplicates and maintained the changes, no change took effect in game. Still the same damage both on the created version I have and the base version listed in the recipe(the gun is created at a chemistry bench). Any help is much appreciated! Thesupernoob202
Just figured it out last night before I went to bed while fiddling with merged mods. Turns out the Visual Reload compatibility patch has a version of the gun that was being used instead of the ones I edited :P Such a simple thing that ate so much time >_> Oh well. Thanks for the help, though!
