sinthesis
Hello :), I had problems with the distant blur from the very start, but it was bearable, eventhough it really is an immersion killer to stand maybe 2km (or miles, whatever) away from a big mountain, which appears to be covered in water or something... But just now I encountered something that I can hardly accept. Take a look (it's the view from the Shrine of Peryite): http://www.my-image-upload.de/images-i30804bry88j.png Can you find the 3 houses hidden in this picture ;D? Takes a while, if you're not directly looking at them... I'm not sure if my game is broke, or if this is skyrim's way to simulate bad vision at night... Or if it's supposed to be a foggy night (though if I turn around I can see chrystal clear). But is there anything I could do about it? I'm already using Enhanced Distant Land, but it seemed to have no effect at all... Thanks for any help :)
eric31415
In your SkyrimPrefs.ini, change the value of bDoDepthOfField to 0, see if that clears it up.
sinthesis
That solved it, thanks a lot. Sorry that I didn't suspect DOF right away, I thought it was supposed to sharpen whatever area you're looking at, even if it's further away - and not just what's in the foreground... shouldn't it actually simulate human eye focus? You know, more like this thanks again :).
eric31415
Yeah, i agree that DOF could have been done better in Skyrim. That OBGE Dynamic DOF is so much better since it's, well, dynamic. All Skyrim does is blur the LOD. Made me feel like I was the one who needed glasses (i have 20/17 vision, so i normally see very clearly far away). Disabling DOF was literally the first edit i made, within an hour of starting the game. Glad it was an easy fix.
sinthesis
Glad it was an easy fix. Believe me, I am glad it was that easy :P. Usually nothing ever works the way I expect it :P. Btw maybe you can help me with something else, I seem to have messed up something with the sun and I already tried everything I could think of... You don't possibly know the source of (and/or solution for) this issue? (for some reason I can't post pics anymore, so heres the link)http://www.my-image-upload.de/images-i30822bi2l13.bmp edit: I seem to have solved it by installing ReAL Sun :).
