A bit of advice please... (Armor Mod)

Hi Forum~

So I was about to get into Skyrim modding as I might have some spare time at my hands soon(ish) and wanted to start off with a private project to learn the craft.

I know my way around 3DMax and Cinema4D(more or less) and I'm pretty skilled with Photoshop and texturing (altho I don't have too much experience with that yet)

BUT: I have no clue about Skyrim(or any other Bethesda game) modding. I understand I need NIFscope and... SkyEdit... and I've already taken a look at the wiki, but considering those are community-adjusted tools to work with Skyrim, and the Kit is expected to be released this month, is it worth it to still dive into the raw business or should I just wait for the Creation Kit?

Will that make my live considerably easier? Whaddya guys think?

If anyone is interested here is what I'd like to be doing:

I totally dig the CBBE meshes and Killer Keo's Armors for those, however I prefer the CBBE slim edition as I'm of the opinion that females with two moons at their front make miserable warriors. (And I like the classic depictions of Valkyries. Plus it's by far more lore friendly.) So I'd like to adjust the entirety of the Vanilla armors for the CBBE slim meshes and make them more feminine. On top of that I toyed with the thought of porting some armors from Vindictus as I think they'd make a great addition and are easy to access and port from Hammer to any other 3D editor.

Cheers~

Its interesting the number of people who insist on knowing how to get armors into the game before they've even got anything to send across.

How about you make stuff first, then worry about how to put it into the game later. All you need is the Niftools plugin for Max so you can import vanilla products and start editing/making them. And as far as SkyEdit goes, no, it's not worth the time and effort learning how to use it when the creation kit is expected to come out before the end of the month.
