There's a couple other posts in a different topic about graphics going haywire after updating. Damn... luckily running from the FO4SE launcher bypasses the steam update so I'm just praying I don't run into a situation that requires verifying game cache. Was thinking of buying Far Harbor but, since that would entail updating and risking a total bork-up of my game, then no thanks. Man, some love letters are better left unsent, huh. Just make a copy of your exe. Then you can restore after you download Far Harbor. :cool: That actually used to be my usual approach but, (quite) a while ago, and here I can't remember if it was FO4 or Skyrim (although ((I'm 99% sure it was FO4), a patch did more than just update the .exe file and my original .exe wouldn't work when I tried just putting it back after updating. Reiyichi Posted February 12, 2017 Share Posted February 12, 2017 (edited) F4SE 3.0 screwed up my game, I can launch it normally but for some reason when I launch F4SE, it loads fine, but when the audio settings try to load up (it takes a while for those to load for me, idk why) it crashes when they finally start loading up, it never fails either, happens every damn time now. Update: I fixed it somehow, not exactly sure how, but I think it was when I deleted all the F4SE files and reinstalled F4SE 3.0. Recently I DID buy the DLCs (as a Seasons pass on the cjhristmas sale) and of course I got a bucketful of patches thrown at me, going from 1.4 all the way up to 1.8 something :ohmy: Of course all of my (carefully backed up) saves were rendered useless and I had to start all over with a new batch of characters. Not to mention reinstalling all of the mods...... :wallbash:Still - I think the extra content in the DLCs was worth the trouble. But......... kevkiev Posted February 13, 2017 Share Posted February 13, 2017 Weird... old FO4 has been fine with F4SE but today all of a sudden it started crashing a ways into the loading screen that shows the various tips. Next thing I knew, next time I started via F4SE I got a quick message that FO4 was updating . Shut it down and opened steam and, sure enough, my game was about 20% updated and counting. I'm always apprehensive about patches, but the good news was that this one seems fine. The only thing it screwed up was Place Anywhere (actually, the new version of F4SE was the culprit) but the mod author is a total champ and has already uploaded an update. Building are missing, things floating, when u look around parts of the world become see through. I dunno wat is causing this. Both my game and script ext are updated. Pls someone help!! Deleted43011650User Posted March 6, 2017 Share Posted March 6, 2017 I couldn't load Fallout 4 no matter what i tried, eventually i uninstalled the game, uninstalled nexus mod manager, deleted every folder that had to do with either, reinstalled the game, added 0 mods or F4se to the game, and it still wont go past 2 seconds of black loading screen. dark47 Posted March 11, 2017 Share Posted March 11, 2017 I'm having problems with Vault 88 since the update. It's like I'm outside the game world, floating around in black and white clouds. The only way to get out is coc somewhere. Am I being clear? I know what I mean but am I saying it right? The rest of the game is fine, but forget about entering Vault 88. The problem was what we in the computer service and repair business used to call "User error" . He, he. In this case, mine. I use scrap everything and when the authors say it's a powerful program, they're not lying. I got scrap happy inside the caverns and scrapped some of the walls and part of the ceiling. Ooopps! Everything seemed fine until I left and came back in. That's when I thought I was sailing the skies. Jeeeez, what a mess. I uninstalled Scrap Everything and loaded up a previous save before I had entered Vault 88, saved it and installed the Scrap Everything without the DLC support and went back into the Vault, this time being more careful, although the new version of Scrap Everything wasn't as robust. It works great still, just helped me not to get so crazy again. He, he. Yes, the 1.9.4 update works just fine for me also, I guess I just didin't want to see my error at first, so yeah! blame the update. Jeeez Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
