Hiding Recipes in Skyrim with Materials

I had originally planned on using GetItemCount but that also results in a crowded smithing menu since many items use similar materials. I am now investigating using hidden perks to hide recipes with the users choosing what recipes they want hidden which was something an addon in Oldrim called Lorecraft did.

Perhaps having something like subcategories may work. Though I can see how this may still get cluttered in certain categories.

  • head
  1. Iron
  2. steel > helmet
  • chest
  • hand/arms
  • feet

Or have them be in the form of recipe books with the corresponding armor/clothing mods name as the book's title. You would select which set of books to carry with you so you can craft them at any forge as long as you have the book.

Could make a memory system where if you craft something enough times you won't need to carry the book around with you.

Or make it so that you have to talk to someone that would teach you how to make it.

Or just make a menu under settings that lets you toggle on and off the different recipes. But this one would feel a little less immersive to me. Never-the-less it would get the job done fairly easily.

P.S.

I am not a modder, so feel free to take these ideas/concepts for yourself.
