Timzor
I don't even know if this is really a "technical support" kind of issue, but it's certainly frustrating. I like the look of Dwemer artifacts, so on my last run through one of their ruins, I picked up a ton of everything--bowls, cups, plates, forks, gears, cogs, gyros, scrap metal, etc, intending to decorate my player homes with it. Unfortunately, it seems my player homes HATE Dwemer clutter. Whatever Dwemer object I place on surfaces such as tables, shelves, etc, invariably ends up on the floor when I leave and re-enter my home. I'm actually able to see it happen if I place an object, then save, then load my game. I hear a clanging sound, and the Dwemer object I placed gets launched from the surface I placed it on, and lands on the floor. I've experimented a bit, and this only seems to be happening with Dwemer objects, for some reason. If I place wooden plates, glazed dishes, cast iron pots, all sorts of other clutter--it stays put. Dwemer object seem to be the only ones that like to bounce around. It even happens if I just drop a Dwemer object on the floor--it'll bounce up, and land somewhere else when I re-enter my home or load a save inside it. Any idea why this is happening, and if anything can be done about it?
Guss
could be something with the object and/or its model having collision issue. never experimented with those but from what you said, first thing that comes to my mind. or your house could be haunted and they don't like those objects

So, I'm guessing if it is a collision issue thing, I'm pretty much screwed, eh? It doesn't sound like something that would be high on Bethesda's priority list of glitches to fix. Tidus44
The only house I seem to be able to get Dwemer items to stay put in is Breezehome in Whiterun. I did the same thing, collected a bunch of Dwemer items and decorated the kitchen table and a table nearby. Next time I was in the house it was all trashed. I just placed everything back where I wanted it and the next time I came back to the house some items were tossed about, but some stayed where I had placed it. After about 4 or 5 go arounds, everything has stayed where I have placed it. The worst (and last to stay put) items were the gyros. I didn't decorate and save in the house, I decorated and went away and do something else and saved at a location outside of Whiterun. It seemed like a few less items got trashed each time I returned to Breezehome until the items eventually all stayed where I've placed them. A pain redecorating each time, but it seems to have worked. I sure hope the CK gets released soon as the first thing I'm doing is making a mod to aid in decorating a house so I can display all the items I collect. Guss
not really sure. 1st time seeing some like that. could be anything but that's what i think. if it was it would be at the bottom. Bethesda and other companies would go for stuff that would affect massive amount of game play and/or issues for lots of people. would keep an eye out to see if others get the same issue, also how are you placing them, might be something with that or how the object model is and could move around - fall of on the floor. ill have to get that a try sometime today or tomorrow. @Tidus44 that would be a cool mod. Edited January 20, 2012 by Guss

I did get a few items to stay put in Breezehome, but I've been at it much longer there than I have in Honeyside. Redecorating my entire house 5+ times doesn't sound like a very fun prospect, but I suppose I can give it a go. I will download the hell out of that mod if you make it. Sounds a bit like the Feng Shui mod for Fallout 3. not really sure. 1st time seeing some like that. could be anything but that's what i think. if it was it would be at the bottom. What do you mean, how am I placing them? I'm going into my inventory and dropping them. Then picking them up by holding E, and setting them down where I want them to go. I could understand some things rolling around, like the gyros, but it's happening with flat things, like eating utensils and dishes. Like I said, when I quickload a game, I can actually see them get flung through the air. They're not just rolling off, or anything.
