anonimouse9
I'm currently creating a musical overhaul of Skyrim using songs from movies like Conan, LOTR, Excalibur, etc... (think other epic tunes from this type of genre). However, what would be awesome is if I could figure out what songs are triggered by what events.Does anyone have a way to tell this (any tool, etc...)?Some of the songs/song-groups are labeled, but not all. Sunnie
You will have to wait for the toolset. Music played during events is controlled by the event scripts, not triggers. Many pull randomly from the entries in a MUSC record. But, to do anything beyond changing cell triggered music, it will require editing scripts. Hmmmm.... editing scripts may be a little above my head, but even starting off on cell triggered music will work. I've already changed temple music, etc... and some changes to dungeon crawling (LOTR - Bridge of Khazad Dum, Journey in the Dark). I'd like to set specific music for some towns (Like changing Whiterun's to LOTR-Riders of Rohan), etc....Also I think I have the Dragon event music pinned down and will be changing that too to a score from Conan. mitzibishi
you just have to instal them play through awhile and see where they trigger, obviously dungeon caves will trigger caves and fort will be castles, battles are fights, boss are dragons, if you want it down to an exact science get a mike replace each one with you saying the name of the file at the start, say "discover_dread_1". thats the best way to pinpoint exactly where it triggers and when they change they track numbers are picked randomly but will play through all if you are in that "cave" "battle" "town" setting a long time because usually they only last 30seconds to 2+ minutes each i dont think battle music ends when a battle ends but plays right through because each file is only about 2 mins 30 long, i have Gladiator battle music in and its 10mins long, so when the fight is finished and im exploring the music is still pounding away. discover dread ive found to start when you discover something like a hidden cave, you know them round things in the ground on hills that has a doorway to a cave, and dread starts after, inside dread will play through whatever track it was on then goes to dungeon cave music. Heres what ive got in, some choice music which doesnt stand out too much so im thinking "oh thats the theme from..........", got them scattered around, mountains, snow, reach, dungeons blended in with the originals as not to lose them Inception, That awesome Dark Night track forgot which 1, the Shining(creepy), Friday the 13th original, Dawn of the dead for synthy creepy sounds, 300 has an awesome battle music, Last Samuri, Sunshine, King Arthur, Schindlers List and Pianist added to town music, "Luke and Leia" from Star Wars and put that in snow, it blends pretty well, and the regulars like Gladiator, Lord of the Rings. anything from Hans Zimmer and John Williams is great Edited January 21, 2012 by mitzibishi
