autumnsky38
Hi everyone. Just wondering about a few things so I thought I'd post and see if anyone might know the answers. I guess like everyone, I'm wondering if we have a date for the release of the Creation Kit, but I've also noticed that there are already some Skyrim mods out there and I'm wondering how they were made? Maybe using the Construction Set? I'm eager to make mods of my own, especially ones that add dialog to quests, and so if I can actually do that now I'd love to begin. Thanks for the info,Tracy
SubjectProphet
Uhhhh.... let's see.... Bethesda said that the CK and 1.4 will be out this month, though I won't count on it. People's mods are usually retextures of other armours, as they can't put it into the game yet. Most of the stuff is forgable too. EG, the armour in my siggy is actually a Daedric Female retexture, not it's own. People have also made AC armour as a retexture for the Thieve's guild armour. Most of it was made in Nifscope and Blender. So far Bethesda has proven themselves to be very.. shall we say, frusterating, with Skyrim. First, they make it Steam registered, and I HATE Steam, it frusterates me, a lot. Second, the CK should've been released by now, along with DLC plans. Third, the updates have proven themselves to just create more problems then fix problems.
mazakala
Let's not forget that some people are already doing player houses, some modders are really in a hurry... Fallout NV tools and some new ones like skyedit, that's what they're using. But the things you can do are very limited and it's a lot of work. It's good to remember that all of these mods have bugs or lack something, and will remain that way until the CK is released. I'm tempted to try something like this myself, but I know it's just a waste of time with the current set of tools.
