I'm now a frustrated ghost

Let me start by saying I'll reinstall the entire game if I have to, but I'd rather avoid that if possible.

Played the game, installed a bunch of mods, started getting random crashes so started fiddling with turning various mods on and off, got fed up and said f*#@ it and turned everything off, that's when I became a ghost.

Didn't get a screenshot of it, but the pipboy is also jacked, and I can only navigate it with the keyboard, mouse doesn't affect it at all.

I've tried disabling all mods, disabling things one at a time, a few at a time, deleted all the ini files in both the my documents and the f4 install directory, even tried creating a fresh character, the fresh character was ghosted too.

Verified my game files via steam, it didn't find anything wrong.

If it wasn't such a stupidly large download I wouldn't be bothered so much by a reinstall, but if need be I'll do so.

Really just looking for suggestions as alternatives to a full redownload.

Any help is appreciated.

New info. I uninstalled all mods. Uninstalled the game. Redownloaded and installed it fresh, put in my old saves, and I'm still a ghost.

I went to the haircut guy in diamond city, got a haircut, and some haircuts you can see some of it, some nothing appears at all. still can't use the click on the pipboy, which means no fast travel. I started a new character, and it's NOT invisible now, so I can at least play again, but if anyone can come up with a way to save my original game, that'd be great.

I would try using looks menu- change your hair and that should reset your appearance. seems to fix some issues for me. You might also try a Stealthboy and see if the effect wears off. As far as your crash issues do you use loot? Not a good idea to uninstall mods on a save. Best practice is to make a save before trying a mod. Other than that I'm not sure.

Tried looks menu, it would let me use it, and it was obvious is was changing things, but still didn't solidify me. Tried a stealthboy before my initial post, forgot to include that in my list of troubleshooting.

I do use loot, and yeah, I've played heavily mod'd morrowind, oblivion, skyrim, fo3, fonv, and now fo4. This is one of those cases where I knew even as I was doing it, I shouldn't do it, and was just pissed and said f*#@ it and did it anyway, so it's 100% my fault.

Oh well, having enough fun on my 2nd playthrough I'm not too worried about it anymore, I do appreciate you taking the time to offer assistance though.
