Invisible via Alpha Map

Hi folks,


iam not new at texturing but i don't get it.


When i wanna create a texture which makes parts of a mesh invisible, i does not make the usual way.



In this example, you can see that the Belt Parts are invisible but weren't removed from the mesh.



This is because on the alpha channel on this texture, these belt parts wered black painted.


So i do this to other textures, painting the parts which should be invisible black, but it doesn't work. What iam doing wrong? I save the textures as DXT-5 with alpha channel.
