Rename Items through console?

Okay, let's say my name in Skyrim is Creed.. So I unlocked the Daedric Perk and crafted 2 Deadric Swords for mine truly.

I decided to rename those blades..

Creed's Sword of Oblivion I

Creed's Sword of Oblivion II

Reason I chose that is because I added the same enchantments on both of them, maybe not so wise, I could have up to 4 different enchantments combined since I'm going dual.. But yea, I didn't see why would it hurt at first place and I really liked the concept of having twin swords under my name, gave me a nice RP feeling and all..

All went ok at first.. However, after a few minutes one of the swords was renamed to Creed's Sword of Oblivion II.. So now there are basically 2 of them under the same name and it kinda looks stupid. As if that was not enough, it removed them from hotkeys list because it read them as Creed's Sword of Oblivion II (2) and I guess it would only be normal to bug. So I wanted to know.. Is there a way to rename items through console? I am highly doubtful but if there's any place I can get an answer on that, it's here.

Also, do you think I could make a better use of dual blades if I have 4 different enchantments instead of 2 same enchants on each of them? What would the enchantments be? I use Absorb Health and Fire Damage on them. Ι didn't use Firey Soul Trap because the Fire Damage on it is much weaker than pure Fire Damage and I wanted them to be real killing machines. I'll gladly read your advices.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, there's a bug where two of the same weapon with the same enchantments with different names will eventually be called the same thing. I haven't heard of anything to fix the problem.

As for your other question, it would probably be beneficial to change, at least, the fire damage to storm or ice damage. Things that are resistant to fire won't take the fire damage at all so hitting with a different element would give you the extra damage. But that's just my opinion.

Thing is that most creatures in Skyrim hate fire.. Even Dwarven robots.. I got Firey Soul Trap on my bow but its fire damage is much weaker than the pure Fire Damage enchantment I have on the swords..

I think the only way to rename things in game in the future, that we crafted or enchanted and misspelled, which I have done by misstake myself a couple of times, will only be possible if we get a good savegame editor, which we had for Morrowind. Editing savegames are often very risky though and its always a big chance something will go wrong when we do it. I dont recall if we ever got one for Oblivion or not but the one for Morrowind was very good for many things - but risky... Edited by pekkape

Mispelling is not an issue for me.. I pay a lot of attention when I rename items during enchanting.. However, I only had 1 Enchanter's Elixir and a whole brand new Daedric equipment to add 2 enchantments on each of the items in 30 seconds.. So renaming was certainly not an option.. It would be great to be able to rename your items at will.

With enchanting at 100 you'll probably have smithing at 100 too. With these skills you can use whatever kind of damage you want because your tempered swords should deal so much damage it shouldn' t really matter if you took fire damage or frost damage. I'm also playing a dual-wielding character and plan to use fire+frost and absorb health+stamina. Apart from that a dagger, bow or 3rd sword with soul trap is always needed.

You're pretty much right, I already maxed everything in One-Handed perk tree that has to do with blades so the damage is devastating already.. It's just that I'm a perfectionist, I always want the very best and most powerful combinations I can get.
