Scrapping Armor/Apparel Yields Nothing

I can scrap weapons at the workbench and get some components. But when I scrap armor or apparel I get nothing, even though the game allows me to scrap them.

Am I missing something here?

I have the same problem. I think on modded items the game doesn't recognize them and wont give components. That or the mod author did not add components to the scrap list or something. :huh:

Update: it appears that "vanilla" armor and apparel will yield resources when scrapped, but not any of the items in this category from Nuka World DLC. Nuka World weapons do give resources when scrapped though.

An oversight perhaps? I am not using any mods that modify the game's default weapons & armor.

I have not yet tested this on the other DLCs, namely Automatron and Far Harbor.

Is there a way to change components received from scrapping armor and clothing items in workshop mode? Right now road leathers break down to 1 unit of cloth, I wanted to use Fo4Edit or Creation Kit to change it to leather and make gas masks scrap to rubber and glass rather than leather. I found only how to edit components for junk items: there are under "Misc. Item", clothes are under "Armor", but there's no such option. I know it must be somewhere, but still can't find it.

Sorry to necro, but did anyone ever figure out which mod was preventing armor from giving resources when scrapped. I am in the same boat and it is frustrating lol
