Werewolves and Vampires

So seriously, becoming a vampire or werewolf in vanilla skyrim is downright embarrassing. I mean seriously, between levels 10 and 76, I used my werewolf powers a grand total of 3 freaking times. And the vampire powers were not any better, in my opinion.

Now I've read through several threads on the matter, and looked through almost every file that turned up for "vampire" or "werewolf" on the nexus, and didn't find anything terribly impressive.

So, does anyone know of any working vampire/werewolf mods (I'm inclined to call them fixes, since I don't understand how Beth allowed this crap to happen in the first place) out and about? I mean really, if I could just snap my arch-magey fingers and fuse Underworld and Skyrim, it'd be done like an hour ago. Any suggestions guys?

One of the challenges is that while a lot can be done in SkyEdit, the CK isn't out so, while not impossible, modifying and writing scripts is very challenging. I can't get even simple scripts recompiled and working properly but I know others have.

In the meantime, follow these threads and make suggestions?

For the most part, the vampires in Underworld really aren't all that interesting. Don't get me wrong, I loved the movies, but they're primarily just badass blood drinking, otherwordly strong immortal humans that use...guns. What part(s) about the Vampires did you like in Underworld that you'd like to see translated to Skyrim? Maybe some of it has a place in the mods we're all working on.

Ah, I didn't mean to be so vague about the vampires from underworld. What I meant, more specifically, was that I loathe the way the vampire works in skyrim as opposed to Underworld's setup. In skyrim you feed to go back to your physically weakest and least magically powerful form in exchange for optimal survivability in the sun; in Underworld they're typically badass all the time, though they do need to feed to survive and keep their accelerated healing processes. I do agree with you though, being a vampire in skyrim if we simply cut and paste from Underworld wouldn't be terribly exciting, not to mention rather irritating since 99% of the vampire race react fatally to sunlight. I mean getting to jump and fall a hundred feet at a time would be cool, as would the massive strength and speed and such, but no nifty spells or anything of the like. No, I simply meant that a vampire is a vastly physically superior being to a human being , and that by no means should feeding cause the vampire to become weaker.

I feel the same way about the lycans too, really. If the only changes were a fair bump to physical strength and speed in human form with the ability to change into werewolf form, it'd be the same setup as what skyrim already has. Some extra powers would be a necessity; some exlusive to wolf or human form, some that apply to both.

I see where you're going there. Hopefully one of the many mods in producting out there will satisfy you. I'm not really doing much advertising for mine yet, but I've got some of what you mention already.

1) Scaling jump height (not too much as the game mechanics just don't work right for it). You can get to about 3 times your normal jump height at the highest level of jumping in my mod right now

2) Scaling fall height. I have 4 .... perks ... at the moment that decrease fall height damage by 25%, 50%, 75%, and 99%. To put this into perspective, at 75% I can jump out of the tower just south east of Whiterun without dying

3) I have sun damage built in. It WILL eventually kill you, but the shade is your friend and overcast skies will keep you safe travelling during the day. You cannot fast travel while you're taking damage from the sun, so find some shelter.

4) Feeding - You can feed from children now, you can also feed from others that aren't asleep but it's a hostile act

5) Vampiric Evasion - Due to your increased "speed" when someone power attacks, you can occassionally detect it. Time slows down and you are able to evade if you manouver properly. This is similar to the Block skill but without the blocking

7) Fortified Unarmed, Melee, Block, and Weapon Speed - You are faster after all

8) Illusion Modifier

9) You're health does regenerate faster, but not in the sunlight. In the sunlight NOTHING regenerates and your health will damage over time

10) You are weaker to attacks from Werewolves in their Beast shape. I haven't settled on a percentage but it's in there now.

11) Since you don't breath, you can stay underwater indefinitely.

12) You take extra damage from silver weapons. I know this is more in line with Werewolf lore, but some Vampire lore has this, as does my personal vampire lore.

13) Immune to disease

Planned

No sneak modifier. If you want to sneak, learn to sneak. But, as a vampire you will be able to reduce your movement noise

Combat Health Regeneration will be a little higher

Immune to most poisons, but not all

Prone to "Turn Undead"

Hunger will cause loss of certain perks while gaining of others

Blood Lust - I've decided if you starve yourself long enough, that feeding on a victim in this circumstance should REALLY hurt, if not KILL, the victim.

Vampiric Sprint - You can sprint for longer, the stamina drain is not as high as it would be for normal PC

I haven't started working on the quests yet.
