Something I've always found interesting, but hasn't been made.

To start off with, I have no modding experience so I'm not even sure if what I'm asking for could technically be achieved, but I'm going to go for it anyways.

I've been doing this really fun, interesting mashup of LoTR and TES. The thing is, I'm playing a character who has no logical reason to wear armor, or at least not outwardly. This kind of got me thinking about the Mithril Mail in LoTR, a ultra light, strong undershirt that's easily concealed and provides the wearer with protection. I can't find anything for it, the only mod that I found that included it (So yes, it is a thing.) constantly CTDs me.

Would anyone be willing to make a mod titles something like "Mithril Undershirt" or something that gives the player the option to have this fantasy armor that doesn't show up at all? It is supposed to be worn under clothes, after all. Thanks ahead of time if anyone decides to pick this idea up.

If you don't need to see the shirt in the game, one easy way to do this would be to make a necklace or a ring with a custom "mithral shirt" enchantment that would either decrease incoming damage,or it would have an armor value of say, 1000 but don't count it as light armor or heavy armor. That way you could still benefit from the unarmored perks.

You could also make a "mithril perk"

It would be invisible, but could decrease incoming damage by x%.

Thoughts?

This is my first attempt at uploading a mod on the Nexus.

Try this and let me know what you think.

Mithril Shirt

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/82240/?

For Special Edition

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8341/?

You will have to use the console and type "help Mithril" to get the item codes. And then type "Player.additem XXXXX 1" where XXXX is the item code.

There is a "Mithril shirt" as a silver necklace and another as a silver ring.

They each have an armor value of 600 (the armor cap) but they do not have the keyword for Heavy Armor or Light Armor, so they should not slow you down or impact the Mage Armor perks.

There is also an enchanted version of the ring, in case you want to disenchant it and use it on something else.

I welcome any feedback you have.

Good luck on your journey, there and back again.

Hi Brutus did the "mod" I posted work for your character?

I'm new at this and could use some play tester feedback.

I might need to make it a Heavy or Light armor for the armor value to show up in the inventory. As it is, it has the armor rating in the creation kit, but it is not tied to heavy or light.

Thanks,

LTK
