New Nuka Settlement ... I am frustrated

Recommended Posts

there is a farm near the entrance of Nuka Town... perferct for a settlement to produce a great amount of food...

I found a few tutorials, how to make a settlement. Some text, some youtube.

Did everything step by step, 5 times, because there are little differences between the tuts.

I downloaded an other Nuka Settlement Mod and looked how he made it.

The result is always the same:

no working supplylines and no settlers

I can assign settlers and create a supplyline, but they never reach my settlement.

One other problem is the happiness, it is 20 instead of 50

Anyone out there, wo has an idea?

@sumpfig

I am by no means a pro-mod dabbler, and my mod-fu is weak,

though you ask an awesome question and let's see what we can do.

I think I know the locale you're talking about - that would be a great place for a freehold settlement.

I modded the Red Rocket into a settlement, in keeping continuity with the Red Rocket Settlements mod.

are you modding the nuka dlc with FO4Edit and FO4GECK, and making a settlement that way? - it is probably a data error of some sort, and some counters not updating.

are you using a mod such as "build anywhere" / "make a settlement anywhere" and doing it that way?

the answer to that, will determine the method to get the result you're envisaging.

if you're modding in FO4Edit and FO4GECK, then that is beyond a lot of what I can do,

though if you share the mod for folks to be able to playtest, or highlight some suspect code interactions,

folks'll be able to steer you in the right direction.

If you're using a combination of "mod anywhere", "mod settlement routes",

then that is why your settlement menu on the Pipboy might not reflect what is happening.

This is a great way to make "a settlement which isn't a settlement",

so you never have to worry about it being attacked.

yet, it still interacts with other settlements etc.

You can send settlers to the settlement, and build a recruitment beacon... in v2,304 you can even view these settlements status from the Pipboy menu

though, Preston Garvey will never order you to protect it, the BoS will never tell you to shakedown the commonwealth, and there'll never be a raid there or synth incident. v3 will be awesome, as the end-game after the main quest line will hopefully translate all settlements into this format, so as Preston Garvey or the BoS never ask you to shakedown the commonwealth again.

This also is simpler and intuitive for most users to use, and hopefully a console-version of this will be possible in the future.

there are some problems -

you can't build it in a place that can't be pathed to,

you can't build in a 2 or more layer deep "basement living" type setup - annoying for localized settlements within a mega vault or UnderBoston..

or in new-lands mods.

Good luck, hopefully this was of some use and has a few ideas for how you

can achieve what you're envisaging,

and I look forward to seeing screencaps of your modded Nuka Settlements.

thx for the answers.

I used the Creation Kit to build the settlement.

I read the whole thread of the link above, because this was one of the tutorials I used. And the solution of the last post has the only effect, that I never owned the settlement.

got it...

using the "DLC04WorkshopWorkbench" and the "DLC04 Workshop Parent Quest"

no "WorkshopSetOwnedTrigger" and no "WorkshopInitializeLocation" quest

don´t know, what happend when entering first time Nuka World.

but should work like the Nuka Rocket Settlement

if someone interested, pm me with mailaddress and I send the esp.

not useful as a mod, because it contains a lot of landscape changes and not fully tested
