hello, its being years since i've last played oblivion, like 2008 or something, now i want to play it again.

so...

i was looking throug the nexus for the last two days and.. is too much!

the last time i've played i used (what i guess, found this in one of my several backup hds):

10FineWeapons.7z

Adonnays_Classical_Weaponry063.7z

Armamentarium.7z

AyleidMeteoricIronWeaponsV1.1.01.7z

DarkUI240.7z

DarkuiLoad2.7z

dD_Gorier_Blood_11.7z

ElderEdit_v12.7z

Face_Exchange_Lite_1.4.1.7z

IFTv21.7z

Leviathan_Soulgems.7z

MOE_Post_Final_r19.7z

MrFrosty2.7z

No_More_Annoying_Comments.7z

NPCNewClothesv26r_full.7z (unbelievable amount of stuff i've compressed inside this one, too much to list here ^^)

oblivion_enhanced_esp.7z

obmm_setup.7z

QTP3_1_3.7z

QTP3_UOP21_Patch.7z

SpewBoys_Maps_II.7z

Talon_of_Akatosh_v1.1.7z

That's So Nico Mod v1.1.7z

Unlimited_Rings_10.7z

UnofficialOblivionPatchv2.2.0.7z

Update_My_Statue.7z

VA_UniqueKatana01.7z

Younger_Hotter_NPCs_10.7z

i think i used an oced opteron 170 and a 8800U on this in those days.. i use a (at least) 8x faster pc now..

so, as "please help me", what i need (desperately) for start is: suggestions for maximum overkill quality for the world including vegetation, weather, buildings, etc.

i would also like NPCs looking good and using nice modded stuff, it dont have to be exclusively nexus content and if needed i can go undergroud for stuff :)

i have downloaded this ones for start:

High Rez Skin Textures for HGEC

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20022

Apachii Goddess Store

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13437

Better Cities

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16513

Unique Landscapes Compilation OMOD or BAIN

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19370

but for now i dont have the slightest idea of what to use/do with them, i dont mind not using any depending on your suggestions.

ah, and i wanna play as a female character! and i realy liked the screens on the Apachii Goddess Store, i would like to see NPCs using those too! males have too look good too so suggestions are welcome!

oh almost forgot, i have shivering isles and all the DLCs.

*blah blah sorry for my english im a brazilian yada yada that sort of thing ^^

I was in the same boat last year when I installed. The number of mods is overwhelming. Armor and clothing mods are more my poison though.

I wouldn't know about improving the world much though it looks like you have the most popular choices there already. Open city options like those in better cities seem like a must for modernizers.

If you are looking for better bodies, you cannot go wrong with one of the set body mods. Dozens of choices in one package.

If you don't mind a little silliness, the Zebra mod is a personal favorite of mine.

Looking into Vipcxj's mods is worth looking into.

If you liked Apachii's place, then you may be interested in Tona's.

If you plan on using companions or just want to customize NPCs, force equip is a god send.

Unless you don't mind making a thousand trips you'll want the weightlifter mod if you plan on using apachii's store.

overwhelming to say the least, plus theres only a little amount here on the nexus, try planetelderscroll to see what a real clusterf*** looks like ^^

i was running through some old screenshots and i think it was actually 2007 when i last played this game , it was heavy as hell on those little nvidia 8xxxxxx ^^

it was manly Qarl’s Texture Pack and Eshme's Bodies among other things as i was seeing, i actually found this here http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11377 (with a megaupload link in it ^^)

so, my doubt is: what is the best today in terms of visual for oblivion? high definition textures overall for the whole world? like everything better, more suitable for modern PC's?

like i said, it dont have to be nexus exclusive, plus if someone did something great and ended up banned, just point me to the mod name and i will find it, thats why i mentioned the underground :)

and thanks for the links! i was looking into those Vipcxj's mods, quite elegant stuff that user did, now on top of everything, i must have an updated skeleton by the looks of it ^^

THAT zebra thing is weird as f*** justwannaddl! ^^

hey! i just remembered that guy from the brotherhood! man that horse was soo cool! it was black and kinda evil haha, i cant remember the name! oh im sooo into playing this game again ^^!

awaiting for more answers :), NPCs overalll too, updated, good looking, and with nice stuff in it for loot!

Thanks!

Since you don't mind going off nexus, Nehrim may interest you. It is a massive complete overhaul mod that essentially is its own game. It also has afair number of mods here at the nexus. Th e only problem is th at the normal voice acting is in german which may be a turn off for people who don't speak it or like subtitles.

I too had not played Oblivion since 2008 as well but it's the first thing I installed when I purchased my new computer.

I read through the mod posts thoroughly, there is plenty of excellent info on the various mods and any conflicts or issues you can expect.

I too was shooting for better visuals and better more immersive RPG game play. I can tell you you'll need Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) and Wrye Bash first. Makes installing and uninstalling mods a breeze. Then Unofficial_Official_Mod patch_V1.06, OOO (latest version), OBGE (latest version), Qarl_TP3 texture pack (hi res textures, I believe it renders textures at 1024 instead of 680). In my opinion, another must have mod is Deadly Reflex that greatly enhances the combat, adding many more moves and difficulty. A few of the other mods I think are mandatory are Immersive Interiors along with another mod called Natural Lights (I think that's the name) that allows for translucent windows so you can see outside when you're in the buildings. Window Lighting System is nice too, it's a mod that allows for the city building lights to turn on at night or in rainy weather. There is a real nice open cities mod I'd like to try, where there is no load to enter a city, but I'm afraid it will just cripple the FPS, sounds very cool though. Vija Companion mod is really useful as well. She can carry a lot of stuff for you and can help take some heat in battle.

That, in my opinion, is a good base to start adding other mods like armor, companion, quest, body mods, etc, that you may like. I have over 30 mods running, but the main essentials for a more immersive experience and better game play start with the mods listed above.

Just take your time installing the mods. A good method is to install one mod at a time and check each mod works without any problems before installing the next. Some mods take a bit of tweaking to get to work properly (HGEC body mod and EVE Equipment Replacer gave me the most troubles). The biggest problem I had was armor not showing up on many NPCs after installing HGEC Bodies/EVE Armor. Many NPCs were butt naked. Had to uninstall mods one at a time until the issue was resolved and figuring out the conflict. Can't remember the exact conflict, I think it was something to do with my install order. Wrye Bash makes load order and uninstalling mods so much easier to do.

It's always a work in progress though. It will never will be complete as long as new mods come out.

Have fun and good luck!

sorry for taking so long to reply, decided to replay Metro 2033 lol

yeah is the same Qarl_TP3 1.3 that i used in 2007.. at this time i was expecting something better but oh well..

i was seeing some screenshots.. i have some last questions before start installing stuff and sorting everything out to work:

what i use to customize make-up on my female character?

what mod changes male/female NPCs to a better looking and using modded outfits and stuff like the old NPC_New_Clothes_v2.6r from DreadNaught? like female NPCs using Apachii for example and males using whatever is updated by now. for males the New_Clothes used the slofs_goth_shop among other things, the point is that it will be unrealistic if i am the only one with a customized look and stuff in the game, it will be totally unrealistic.

If you don't mind taking the time and spending your own character's money, Muffin Share http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=7119 will let you access almost anyone's inventory (won't work on ghosts, or Haskill in SI) and change their equipment.

Advice... don't use MuffinShare on anyone carrying a Bound Weapon (or anything that's been force-equipped, whether by script or by console-commands... your game will crash).
