Triggerhappy1313
Got it in SE. No matter what mods I turn off it seems to persist on Vampire NPCs. I have played around with my load order in LOOT to no avail. I have scoured so many searches in google regarding this and I either get old "fixes" that do not actually work or old mods that no longer exist. So basically I am wondering, as of Feb 24th 2017. What actually fixes this rampant bug that has been around since the Merethic era? Thanks a bunch friends.

EKinnamon
I am having the same issue. I think I noticed something yesterday though.I had a black face bug on Laelette (Morthal quest). Tinkered around, installed "Pretty Vampire Faces" and it fixed her. Not that is how I want vamps to look, but the black head thing really really annoys me (breaks immersion). Fixed (put it near the end of my load order).Time goes on (about 1 day in game time) and I run into a group of vampires with dead Vigilant of Stendarr lying about (Dwanguard DLC random encounter). I ran into them before, no biggie. But they now had blackhead.I *just* fixed this problem. Tested, worked on Laelette, not the Dawnguard ones. I removed the mod (Pretty Vampire Faces" and the Dawnguard worked again....So... my (very limited very little educated moders) guess, is that there are two spots that need to be fixed. Kroekr
There is an update to USSEP http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/266/? . According to the changelog https://afkmods.iguanadons.net/Unofficial%20Skyrim%20Special%20Edition%20Patch%20Version%20History.html , there were some changes made to vampires which do something for your vampire problems. EKinnamon
Is there a solution/mod/load order that is recommended then?
Tulsa299
I would suggest checking each mod to see if it was ported properly as I've read this can cause this bug (I've read so much lately, I may be wrong). There's an easy way to do this... Grab this http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/134/?Load every mod you have individually (File/Load ESP/ESM) and if you get an error telling you this mod is for Oldrim, it may be a problem.. Google this, it can explain better than I.

A new mod also came out that deal with the vamp black head. Tried that, seems to be working. Going to do this too, I think it will help and tracking down some of the follow mod blackhead issues.
