Blackout0219
So I have a problem with suttering when playing Skyrim. I will proceed to describe the problem as detailed as possible PC (Laptop):Intel Core i5-7200U 2.5GHz Nvidia GTX 950M 2GB dedicated VRAM 8GB DDR4 Memory 1000GB HDD Windows 10 64 bit operating system I'm playing Skyrim, Legendary edition. I installed it in my C unit as I have no other unit but OUTSIDE of the C program files by creating a separate file named "Skyrim".I proceeded to install nexus mod manager, then skyrim script extender, and finally I installed a few plugins/mods such as SkyUI, crashfixes and the better map mod. When playing the game it set my default graphics to high so I'm playing mostly with everything on high/ultra. The problem experience:When I'm playing the game, specially when I'm running (mostly outside but also sometimes inside cities) the game seems to suddenly drop from 60FPS to like 55-56 and this causes a stutter, as if the game froze for a second or so. Sometimes it's lighter, other times it's heavier. Most of the time the game is at 60FPS and never drops below that, but when it does it stutters a bit I experience this primarily when I'm sprining (both on foot and horse) and when I'm inside a building and quickly leave a room to enter another it also happens sometimes There are two things I'd like to add that might be relevant: Oblivion is an older game and stutters considerably as well, maybe even more. I have no idea why I tried lowering the settings but the suttering persists equally, as if nothing had changed I wanted to find a solution, I appreciate advice if anyone has any idea what I should do Sorry if there's any error english isn't my native language
Algabar
To some extent, the stuttering seems to be a limitation (or "special feature") of the game engine. It occurs, when new stuff are loaded. It can also occur, when you turn your character around. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to eliminate this stuttering completely. Since you got SKSE installed, you can try to play around with the settings of your skse.ini a bit:[Memory]defaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 <-- Try to raise this value in steps of 128 (up to a mximum of 1280 and see, if things get better).scrapHeapSizeMB=256 <-- Don't touch this ^^ ENB also offers some tweaking features, that can help reducing stuttering further. You don't need to install any ENB preset, just the ENB core files and "ENBoost": http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73618/? SInce Windows 10 (and 8) limit the usable RAM for 32bit applications to 4Gb anyway, ENB might not help that much, though.

I notice no other game stutters like skyrim, I can even play more demanding games and it will run with less FPS but no stutter or lag
snelss0
In addition to what Algabar stated, there are some optimization techniques you can use for windows 10 to help your game run smoother, but yeah, the game really is old. Hopefully in the few months SKSE comes out for SSE; though even if it does, most Bethesda games are just buggy as heck and in my opinion are not made well. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=500687692

So basically I just have to accept the game is slightly buggy right? It's not game breaking or anything I'm just a bit picky. I was a bit afraid it was because of the specs
snelss0
Yeah, it is a 32 bit game being played on 64 bit systems. Aside from the normal bugs and development fails, it's bound to have issues. All the more now that we mod it; though some mods do bring stability to the game.
