Nimarus
Recently made the move from Playstation 4, to PC (Loving the freedom from Sony's "Can not do external assets for security reasons" excuse). Okay, I know what your thinking "Yet ANOTHER person asking for a, Keep all factions but Institute Alive mod, who doesn't know about the method known on Youtube and other sites. (For example: ). I get it, but hear me out. I just want to play through the game without thinking "Okay, check my checklist first...okay, that will not screw up my ending if I do that." I don't know anything about the Construction Set, so I don't know how tedious or simple this request is (guessing tedious). I searched around and didn't see any mods that does what I'm hoping for. I'm just hoping that someone can make a mod that prevents some quests from getting one faction to attack another, or disable the "This mission is done, so Minutemen attack BOS switch is flipped." If I knew how to do this, I'd do it myself. However, I've only had this new PC for less than a week (5 days starting this morning). If this is even possible, and someone actually does this, you have my gratitude. And to all the modders out there who edited their mods so Playstation 4 players could get...something, with all of Sony's limitations. Thank you, is not enough. montky
@nimarus awesome to see you're enjoying mods, and that you've got FO4 on a few different setups."Thank you is not enough" - here here and well said! some of the stuff folks can do on consoles is AWESOME!they're doing cool stuff. Turning to FO4 on multiple different installs and setups, that's awesome to see.I wonder, did you get the DLC on either version, just out of curiosity hehe.if not, why so? I also enjoy FO4 on all possible platforms, and personally have a low-end PC version, high end PC version, and PS4 'basic version'.I tried the PS4 version first, as it was the more stable and I had an awesome preorder opportunity which was less than other options.it happens - family go "what can we get x,y,z for a gift for this? I KNOW we'll get them Fallout, they like that, right?"or, game stores and vendors do a deal when you get a system or upgrade card etc.so, fortuitously, some folks are able to have FO4 on more than one system. I get where some users and Fallout 4 Fans are coming from;they for a variety of reasons, only have 1 copy of the game, and cannot acquire the game on many different versions, replete with DLC etc.that's where that whole PC v Console dialectic came in...which I never understand, because they're both computers; it's just one has no user-servicable parts and is simpler to use,and the other can do whatever the user can make it do.The pay-wall issue and value proposition of DLC is a separate thing, and something PC and Console versions can both discuss hehe. I understand where Sony is coming from - they've had a lot of issues, like 48 or 49 major credentials hacks and PSN issues over the years...so, they definitely don't want history to continually repeat, and want to make life difficult for third party hackers, and have learned a lot from their past.though, surely there has to be some way to get a win-win, so as legitimate users of Playstation can enjoy mods... turning to your discussion of FO4 and end-games etc;that one is a little tricky, though a few mods and overhauls are in the works.hopefully one or more of them emerge. It isn't a duplication of efforts, as they'll each be different, and where one approach might lead to mod-conflicts, other approaches might not have those conflicts... you're not alone in wondering if the FO4 main quest line could be overhauled.there are several projects in the offing;underboston, good institute and bad institute,BoS overhaul, P.A.M. overhaul and sidequest,Enclave Returns mod, karma system,dialogue/choice system etc... It would be awesome to see detente betweenThe Institute, Minutemen, BoS, Goodneighbor, Diamond City, Atom Catsand something like the NCR form in the Boston Commonwealth. It is taking a bit of time, as sound-alikes have to record the new lines for a few characters. The Institute quest arc is also proving fiddly to have say, Virgil or Dr Li be the director, instead of the player character... I hope to see these projects materialize soon, as then FO4 will be properly overhauled and have more continuity withFO1, FO2, FO3, FONV, FO Tactics, and FO:BoS
Nimarus
I originally got it on Playstation 4 (with season pass). Then, after seeing how limited mods are on PS4, I got Fallout 4 and the Season Pass on PC as well. Saved up and got a PC that can run Fallout with graphics settings on Ultra. Went around in Boston (heard rendering there was taxing on the CPU and/or Graphics Card, all ran smooth). I had a feeling that this request was complicated. Just wish I could do all the missions for all the factions, then decide who should stay and who should go. Fallout 4 would feel so much bigger if I could do that. Imagine playing Skyrim and having to pick between Companions, Dark Brotherhood, and the Mages Guild. Being able to do a few missions for each, but having to side with one and leave the others.
