ohGr
ok, im getting mine from Dell, they seem to have the best laptops at a cheap price with a decent video card...heres what i might be getting. ShinJiOh
hmm..... i asked a man in the know, who builds computers at minimum cost and at maximum efficency and.... you're getting gyped. Basically(i hope this isn't against forum policy) Dell su**s, they rip you off and they have some faulty s*** but if you want a well known brand, that is the way to go, if you want another well known brand at a slightly cheaper cost, try This could be a better solution, if you're willing to shop around that is.... keep in mind that computers can be overclocked and make them go MUCH faster. this site is Melbourne based... it might help but if your really willing, you should have one built for you, cheaper and usually run better, providing the person knows what they're doing. Although, if your father is paying for it, and you want a long warranty go with dell(1 year isn't really that long) usually better to rip off your own father hehe if he is scabby that is. The SECOND main fault with Dell is that those computers are a real pain to upgrade yourselves, i mean after the warranty expires. But if you pay for professionals and stuff.... you have the go-ahead from me if you're not willing toi risk it but i do suggest heavily that you shop around... ohGr
well, we changed a few things on the laptop, my dad agreed to get a geforce fx5700go in it when it arrives, my brother snuck in a few changes he changed the monitor, now its a UVGA monitor, or something like it, displays at 1600x1200, changed the ram to a 1gig stick (we're going to either buy 512 stick or 1gig stick later on) and he added a few small things, optical mouse, and a 60gig HD. now its only costing us $3,200  oh well, good thing i didnt go with alienware, id be getting ripped off, no ones going to pay $5,900 for a laptop
Slaiv
what is the currency rate for Australian ---> US dollars?because, depending on the rate, then you could buy an alienware laptop, which could beat any DESKTOP or LAPTOP dell has to offer....http://www.alienware.com
