TES5EDIT Cannot find TESV.exe

So ive just downloaded the mods id like to use for the special edition. Installed LOOT, ran it organized my list but its showing i have some dirty files. I download tes5edit to clean my master files and the damn program cant find the tesv.exe!! In the skyrim se directory i have both the launcher and the executable but it reads skyrimse.exe instead. SKSE wont run either due to it not being able to locate the exe as well. It tells me to run the skyrim launcher through steam the first time after initial download to load the ini but it never changes anything, it can never find the tesv.exe

I can run vanilla without a problem, so its there, somewhere...

Is there anybody who gets what im saying and can help me? Im almost at the point of uninstalling everything and never playing this game again.

Can you please describe how you fixed this issue? Im having the same problem. Thanks.

Use Steam, it a windows Registry Key Thingy..... Once SkyrimSE.exe registers, by using the Steam Skyrim SE Launcher, other programs can auto find it. No need to start the game, just let the Launcher, do it First Time Start Up Thingy Checky Things ~ techy jargon not my strong point.

Hope that anyone who get into trouble. Works for (Mod Managers, FNIS, anything) too, when they can't the Game.

Is there any other way to start SSE than through the Steam Launcher? :D

In Oldrim there was always this SKSE issue, because SKSE would not set the registry. But with SSE?

Not sure if the OP was making the same mistake as I did, but I am using Skyrim Special Edition and was trying to use TES5EDIT to clean Bethesda's masters. When I should have been using SSEEDIT. (Noob is as noob doesð³)

Going back to RiiZiST's post he/she does mention: "So ive just downloaded the mods id like to use for special edition" , so I can only assume the same issue was the culprit. Hopefully anyone else who is new at this finds this thread and realizes this simple mistake! The OP also mentioned SKSE not working either and as much as I understand SKSE is not ready for primetime with SSE.

I watched many YouTube vids and read many forum posts and just about everything mentioned TES5EDIT so thats how I got myself painted into that corner. Thanks Peter and Fore for taking the time to reply and trying to help out!
