XyionUK
What do people prefer to do? Horses get you around faster, but in my opinion hinder the ability to pick ingredients up. Running is slower but gives you the ability to pick ingredients up. I actually at the moment prefer Running, especially if it is a location I haven't visited before and on occasion I have missed a lot of stuff while speeding past stuff on horses. JanusForbeare
Until I played the DB questline, I didn't use a horse. As you say, they hinder your ability to gather ingredients, not to mention they have terrible AI this time around. Shadowmere (and Frost, so I hear) are the only two horses you can really depend on. That being said, a horse at full gallop can outpace most foes. I think I'll use them more once someone releases a mod that nixes fast travel. JanusForbeare
To disable fast travel, open console and type enablefasttravel 0 Go figure. I never saw that command on any of the lists I've read through. Thanks for the tip!
Rooker75
I generally prefer a horse, although there are two huge aggravations that come with it. A) It takes so long to dismount and get control of your character that you almost can't avoid being hit by an attacker before you can do anything about it. The horse doesn't sprint fast enough or long enough to help that very much. B) The stupid horse charges straight into fights. I've had to reload more than once because the damn horse charged directly into the path of a dual-fireball spell. I even tried hitting the horse with a "target flees combat" spell a few times and it didn't help anything. If someone makes a "horse always flees - NO EXCEPTIONS" mod, I'd download it in a heartbeat. Not to mention the two horses that just completely disappeared with no explanation and never turned up again.

Rennn
Does that console command for no fast travel also get rid of carriage travel?
luxwing0go
Every time I ride a horse, it ends up dead an hour later one way or another. :whistling: Too bad it isn't like Morrowind - I'd just keep 500 bottles of Skooma with me everywhere... *glug-glug-glug*WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! XyionUK
I'm totally with you on that Rooker. A mod that allows you to dismount faster would be very effective and yes one that makes it so the horse down't attack all the time, although I hear Shadowmere is hardy horse the hardest in the game to kill so might not be so bad with that. I don't know if this is possible but having your horse carry stuff would be totally awesome too, I'd store the heavier things and so on I wouldn't even mind if there was an RPG effect to it where the heavier the goods the slower the horse. @No_Aardvarks_Allowed Good find, that will definitely help.
