I searched the forum and found a post relating to this but his solution was an error with his monitor. I'm currently playing on my laptop as I am away from my main PC. Every time I press 'Print Screen' I try and load the image out of the folder the image either doesn't load in windows viewer but will load in some other applications but come out black and white or stretched or just a complete mess.

Is there something I am doing wrong? I hope I can salvage the pictures, don't particularly want to try and get them again.

I'm not familiar with your problem in any technical sense of things ... BUT ... there is a way around this problem, that's if you really want to save your images ... let's be honest, some images are

irreplacable, as we will never be in that particular situation or place or the timing of the image taken ever again ... so enough waffling and let me try to assist.

1) There is a FREE program called FRAPS, you can take screenshots and even short clips of your game in action as well ... well, download it,

and assign a hotkey with which you want to take screenshots ... I normally assign one of the symbol keys or that star key on my number pad.

2) Open up the image with one of the other programs that you said still open the image properly.

3) Take a screenshot with your new program FRAPS (of the opened image) ... you'll find the image in View Screenshots in the program (at the risk of sounding silly it's

better I mention that as someone might read this and wonder where the heck the images are).

4) Edit the bits off the image with Windows paint that you don't want, save it and ta da, you can now open it with Windows picture viewer.

Like I said, this is a long way around but it will work ... how much do you want the images ?

You can always wait for someone more technically minded to assist, but if all else fails this will help.

Also, from now on you can take images with FRAPS and avoid any future "print screen" problems.

If you run Skyrim with Steam you can printscreen by pressing F12. The images are then saved on the Steam folder, usually at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[userID]\760\remote\440\screenshots but you can always change it ;)

And what if I run Skyrim without Steam? :ermm: neither F12 neither Print Screen is working, tried some programs by taking screens and by filming Skyrim but when i was watching what i got it was only black screen... WTF? :wallbash:

Answer: You don't run a legal copy of Skyrim without Steam.
