The Great Nuka-World Cleanup - still no interest in this?

Back in September I posted a proposal for a mod, for which while I'd love to see it, I would have no particular skill, except perhaps for writing dialogue scripts (I consider myself a good writer/journalist). It would be at least somewhat based on PaladinRider's New Vegas mod called Run the Lucky 38, with similar systems used (terminals for upgrades/cleanup steps etc.) PR has unfortunately retired from the modding scene, but he likes this idea, at least; he's just moved on to other things which I definitely understand.

Here's the thread I posted back then:

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4816530-the-great-nuka-world-cleanup-spoilers/

I've not seen any movement on anything approaching this, not even a relatively simple esp that would remove all the clutter and trash from Nuka-World (which I would consider to be the first step in this, anyway) since then. I honestly think extending the game play in this direction would be a great step toward the longevity of this game, which after exploring everything Boston and the Commonwealth has to offer, seems a little dry. I will most likely reinstall the game and check out that Beantown Expanded Interiors mod (the sequel to DC and Vegas Interiors I think) but if anyone would be interested in checking out how to do this mod I suggest, I'd be really really happy! :)

Take care, all :)

There was a mod for cleaning up nuka world if you took out the raiders but it is old now and it had bugs plus the author just doesn't comment there anymore. Nuka world is kind of a letdown since after you get some rewards there it just gets really boring. Enemy spawns happen over and over again for no reason even if you wipe out all the gangs and the map is too small. Maybe if nuka world could be inhabited by main game factions it would be more interesting or if there was more story after doing everything there.

Nuka World feels really really "latched on" imho. After completing the quests there, there's just nothing that'd make me go back: No settlements that need tending, nothing.

Not being able to drive out the raiders (that I assigned to those spots during the quest) using <your vanilla faction of choice> was a HUGE letdown. I remember standing in front of that flagpole after killing all the raiders and.... not being able to tear down the flag and raise the minutemen one confused me. :/

It would have been so awesome to liberate the people there with the minutemen, conquer&secure the technology as bos, have the surface dwellers die off as the institute or even have the railroad establish some meaningful base of operations instead of... a cellar.

Sadly, it's dead end and I guess modding it to be more of what it could have been is... not easy and not on the radar, with how "oh, yeah... there was this nukawold surrounding...." the whole content is.

If anyone would create a mod that'd let you capture the posts from the raiders and raise you factions flag to create a settlement on these locations... I'd love it. And actually return to Nuka-World some more.

Yep yep, absolutely :) Anything that might let us restore Nuka-World to at least partial working order beyond what we have... Would really love riding on uncluttered World of Refreshment or the Mad Mulligan's Minecart if someone would be able to restore them, or just walk around near-pristine, populated Nuka-Worlds :)

None of the other factions besides the Minutemen would actually have an interest and to be fair the minutemen's interest wouldn't be all that direct.

1. The Institute is fine staying underground and staying that way, literally their entire way of life is building a scientific paradise underground

2. The BoS aren't staying in the commonwealth and wouldn't waste the resources to man a park that has no tactic advantage over the war with the Institute

3. The Railroad isn't really that large nor would Nuka-World be a good place for them to set up as they're focused around temporary safehouses

4. The Minutemen themselves aren't even a government or have plans to form one, they're a volunteer army, the most they would do is send in some troops to patrol the wasteland around it.

It really doesn't feel latched on if you're playing Raiders as it's the center of your raider empire, raiders being the prime focus of Nuka-World.

As for the ideas, I feel the focus relies too much on killing the raiders and turning it back into a theme park which is kinda eh.

In my opinion a good thing to do is to build something new that can fit both raiders and traders for instance

1. Kiddie Kingdom is turned into a New Vegas-style casino area, all the buildings are now accessible and feature several different forms of pleasure from holo-dens, brothels and casinos.

2. Bottling Plant is turned into a large scale industrial area, using scavenge from trading or tribute from settlements to make Nuka-Cola, Vim, bullets, armor and various other goods. The entire area is turned into numerous plants.

3. The Zoo is turned into a arena, depending on your choice it could be slave battles or a more tournament style fighting area.

4. The Wild West zone is turned into a massive training facility to train your guards/raiders

5. Galaxy Zone is turned into a bustling marketplace where everything goes if you're raiders, some regulations for the traders

6. Nuka Town is turned into a massive residential area

7. New workshops all around the park that can be turned into raider outposts or farms no matter which side you pick.

This feeling would be more original and in-touch with the idea that the park is becoming a collection of settlements. The end-goal being that nuka-world is turned into a massive city with the park being residential and commerce as well as being a manufacturing power with the surrounding area turning into farmlands to support the main city. Eventually the parks would be surrounded by residential area and shops and massive walls are built between the already existing parks.
