kingdark
Hi,I've been fighting with Skyrim for it to keep working properly and for me to figure out what mods I HAVE to remove because some are just either outdated that I don't know about or they conflict with other mods when they shouldn't even when I use loot. So anyway, I was using a save game I found on the nexus, one that starts with no mods used and after returning the horn quest from the greybeards. My character has a disease and when I used the cure disease potion' (or whatever the name is, I can't remember it at the moment) it was a very underwhelming, unimpressive graphical effect. Now, before that didn't bother me too much, I play in first person for the most part anyway, so I didn't really notice it. But now it does bother me so of course I figured that there had to exist a mod already that corrected this! Unfortunately, I haven't found a mod to my liking. In fact, I have found no mod at all. Did I miss the obvious here? Does it already exist? More importantly, am I the only one that is bothered (now) with the underwhelming graphical potions effects? I mean, what is there now, is just a few blue circles that goes around your character, but 'cure disease' is a pretty powerful cure-all (for the most part) so for that at least, I would say it needs a bit more OOMPH to it. The same goes for other potions as well. So, you're probably thinking, why aren't you putting this in the mod request part of the forum? Well... Because I'm more interested if I'm the only one that's bothered by the underwhelming potion effects. To be clear, I'm not referring to how POWERFUL the potions are by themselves but their GRAPHICAL effects. Not how much it heals, but the GRAPHICAL effects. What do you guys think? IsharaMeradin
It was my understanding that potions used the same effects as their spell counterparts. At least I have seen no difference between using a potion of cure disease and using a cure disease spell.
kingdark
Okay, good to know, but do you also find the graphical effects, when you use third person a bit underwhelming? That's the whole point of my topic actually. and hey! I didn't even know there was a cure disease spell equilavant!
IsharaMeradin
Honestly never paid attention to the FX. I'm more concerned about whether or not it performs the intended function. As far as there being a cure disease spell, the Vigilants of Stendarr are able to cast it if you are infected when you talk to them. I don't think I have a magic mod installed but that doesn't mean one of the mods I do have hasn't provided a tome for it. At any rate, there is not a player usable cure disease spell in the unmodified game.
kingdark
Are you even reading what I said? I'm not interested in a spell that does the same as the cure disease potion. But this topic has had it's purpose so... Let it fall back among the rest of the forgotten topics :p Edited March 12, 2017 by kingdark
IsharaMeradin
I did read what you posted. Thus my first portion in my last post indicates that I don't pay attention to the visuals but rather the end result. That was the answer to your question(s). The second portion was in reply to your statement about not knowing of a spell equivalent to the potion being discussed. It wasn't intended to be a 'use this instead of' statement but rather 'this is what is out there since you were not aware of it'.
